Yasinskas on Beason

he's right..

I realize people enjoy the trill of panic, but what we have done this year so far hasn't killed our team..

there are positives to this season that just may outweigh the current off-season sentiment..

chemistry and players catching on will be vital. happens every year in the NFL. the field will be the judge...

until then.. it's all conjecture.. useless at best.

He actually has a valid point.

Have you ever tried to lead a group in a team effort when the most talented guy in the bunch wasn't giving his all?

How do you jump on the lesser guy for dogging it when he can just point to the big guy and say "What about him? Why don't you ever jump on him for half-assing?"

It makes it very difficult.

I've got to give Yas credit. While the Beason praise was easy, and the Peppers criticism was spot on, he said the ugly truth about Harris.

Harris wanted to lead, but really was famous for a couple of strips and one good hit every second or third game. He wasn't Ed Reed or Mike Minter back there. He was a good safety, but not one of the greatest players on the team.

Hate to see him go, don't get me wrong, but his bark was often more than his bite. Of course, a doberman's bark is often sufficient to keep the bad guys out of your yard.

yeah, chris harris wasn't a huge loss for us as many people seem to think. i think godfrey will fill in nicely, but i'm more looking forward to seeing sherrod martin out there in the FS spot. i think he has the athleticism to be the next Ed Reed. should be an interesting year for him.

Except Ed Reed can actually lay somebody out

It's a fair assessment.

    • Read the first line of my post---then read your response.  A few points---I acknowledge that I have not seen the players on the field yet, something you seem to point out in order to attack my opinion--that is what I call going full  Richard Cranium.  I state that he did not get bullied (trade values don't need performance criteria--they make trades without knowing the performance in the draft--should not have to explain that to you).   He did not get bullied like the trade up last year.  He got us a second rounder back.  How is that like Fitterer last year?  I'll wait for you to answer, but I do not think you will--effectively using things called "facts"
    • Seems like a legit HC candidate could wind up in Charlotte.  Lakers and Wizards also need a coach, but there are some big names floating out there. Darvin Ham, Buddenholzer, JJ Reddick, Kenny Atkinson, Jerry Stackhouse… Who ya like to *develop* this young team?
    • While I think it'd be silly for anyone to argue that Mahomes wouldn't have done any better here (and is obviously leagues above Bryce), it's worth mentioning...I watched the Raiders/Chiefs game late last year and man did Mahomes and that offense look like absolute trash in a game where Mahomes was continuously running for his life behind an o-line that couldn't block for poo, while trying to throw to receivers getting zero separation, and getting zero help from his run game.  You know, the norm for Bryce every week.  It really did look like I was watching a Panthers game.  That was a game against Aidan O'Connell with a final stat line of 9/21 for 62 yards 0 TDs and yet Mahomes and the Chiefs managed 7 total points up until 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter in arguably garbage time.
