Wonder what the character concerns are? Must be major for teams to drop him all together

Well, if you read the quote the one guy does say they are very strict at his franchise.

Something to keep an eye on, though. If he is your guy, he might drop and be available in a trade down.

The Draft Network has positional standout articles, as well.

Overall, I really want to get more top 60 or 90 picks. This class seems VERY deep, although possibly lacking many elite guys.

This would be a great class to get a TE, DT/NT, DE/EDGE, RB, LB, CB, etc. Lots of options available for us.

Very heavily leaning towards trading down to get more 2nd and 3rd round picks.

And this is why I utterly despise the combine

I don't understand changing your opinions on players based on them performing non football drills without pads and that being the differentiator in your opinion of a player over 3-4 years of game tape on them.

Like I've said before, the combine made more sense a few decades ago when there weren't a hundred HD cameras at every college game, so you get multiple angles of every snap of every player, over the course of their full career.  It allowed you to compare players with each other when you didn't have access to all of that dedicated tape on each player.

The only thing the combine is good for these days is the interviews and letting teams interview hundreds of players in person without needing to fly around the country for weeks on end.  The actual on field drills are nothing more than TV fodder for fans to watch and networks to sell commercial time to make money.

The combine athletic testing removes weird variables and offers an extra data point if you're trying to weigh conflicting indicators.

Case in point: Shemar Stewart had 39 pressures. Good! He converted only 1.5 into sacks. Bad! Why might that have happened? Does he lack burst to close on the QB? Enter the combine, which answers: he does not.

Now, everyone knew that he was a good athlete. But "he's definitely going to be the best athlete every time he steps on the field" is new info and I don't see why it wouldn't change your opinion of him at all.

Also, man, it was dumb taking a torn ACL RB in the 2nd last year with the RB depth in this deep draft class this year. Really dumb. Could have had a stud CB or C instead and grabbed a complimentary RB on day 3 who can actually play in 2025.

We should take a RB this year. Thia class is bananas.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
