Would love to add him to the edge room. He's a really good speed rusher who has put up good sack numbers despite some injuries and limited snaps as a back up. He could come here and play a role similar to early career Mario Addison and be effective and providing good speed rush versus a tired Oline.

The Panthers are expected to be involved in the cornerback free-agent market, per league source. 

If Carolina can’t reach a deal with Mike Jackson, #Eagles CB Isaiah Rodgers is someone who might make sense as nickel or outside option.

I wouldn’t expect a Tier 1 target.

I get the logic of bringing in an established veteran--they pump you up in the short term.  However, when they are on the field, young guys are not developing.  I think of players who were not that good early in their careers but played through it. Rucker, Hardy, C. Johnson, Norman, Steve Smith, R. Kalil, etc etc etc. ---all struggled in some ways year 1, but they are some of the franchise's best players.
