Mecole Hardman, a veteran wide receiver and return specialist, is signing with the Green Bay Packers on a one-year deal, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

He's not the No. 1 receiver the Packers might be lacking, but Hardman does replace the kind of speed Green Bay will be without until Christian Watson returns from his torn ACL.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said recently that the team is preparing to be without Watson, who was injured in the regular-season finale, for the early portion of the season.

Hardman, 27, has spent most of his six NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs after being drafted by the team in the second round in 2019.

The Minnesota Vikings are moving past their discussions with free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers, leaving second-year player J.J. McCarthy atop the quarterback depth chart as offseason practices approach, sources told ESPN.

The Vikings spent the better part of a week considering their options after Rodgers made clear he preferred to sign with the team, sources have said. Their internal deliberations intensified after 2024 starter Sam Darnold signed with the Seattle Seahawks and free agent Daniel Jones, whom the Vikings envisioned as a veteran wingman for McCarthy, rejected their contract offer and signed instead with the Indianapolis Colts.

RB Rico Dowdle reveals why he signed with Panthers

"That's something you look at, at the offensive line, evaluate it like, 'OK, yeah, those guys are doing that, you know, they're pretty good,'" Dowdle said. "So when I knew I was coming here, I started doing my research and stuff on the O-line, seeing all the positive on it and how they've built it up these past couple years. So definitely was intriguing to see.

"With those guys up front, I've watched a little bit of film already, and those guys, they pretty much run mid-zone, similar to what—we ran outside-zone in Dallas."

From what I’m gathering on Jags twitter, there is debate kinda like we had with Burns. Walker is due for an extension sooner rather than later and is he worth top Edge money. I would dabble, he’s improved every year.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
