Apparently Hunter Renfro visited the Panthers on Wed.  Might be old news but he is pretty good

I always liked hunter. Seems like he could get open in the middle of the field but not a vertical threat that we probably need.

I know he didn't play last year after some bad injuries the previous year.  He is only 29 but there is risk that he may not recover back to where he was.  I'd be happy with him if the risk is very low from the cap perspective.

would be an interesting cheap depth signing but he didn't play last year and although there were some claims he was "retired" I think it was due to lack of legit interest from around the league

Smoke screen. Carolina does not sign Clemson Tigers bro. Isn't Hunter from SC? Maybe he was just stopping by on his way home.

We don't DRAFT Clemson guys, we occasionally will sign a free agent from there.  Just last season DeShawn Williams was on the team.  Ray-Ray McCloud had a cup of coffee with the Panthers a few years ago.

Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes indicated that the team was going to pick up the fifth-year option for star wideout Jameson Williams. As for the longer term, well, that's where things aren't as concrete, particularly with a pricey WR market.

"Look, his fifth-year option, it's looking likely that we'll go ahead and just pick that up," Holmes told the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett. "But in terms of extension, again, there's a lot of extensions that are hopefully coming, but it's just one that you just don't know what's going to happen from a financial standpoint cause a wide receiver, it's expensive. It's very expensive.

"So, look, these are good problems."

One indication the Falcons could still trade Cousins rather than keep him is they didn't restructure his contract, which would push the money he is owed into future years.

The Falcons currently have the fifth-lowest amount of cap space available in the NFL ($10.6 million). Cousins has a $40 million cap hit in 2025, but the Falcons could save $27.5 million against the cap if they trade him after June 1.

A pre-June 1 trade would save the Falcons $2.5 million. Penix, the No. 8 pick in the 2024 draft, is entering offseason activities as the top quarterback on Atlanta's depth chart.

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
