Honestly hope we don't sign a RB. I get you want to plug holes and/or allow yourself to go BPA in draft, but i would rather address in draft 1x late round, 1x UDFA

Yeah, it's a deep RB class. Take advantage of it. There will be a number of day three RBs out of this draft class who will be solid NFL contributors.

They need a kick returner to replace Blackshear. Now that guy doesn't have to be a RB of course but they need to figure out who that is. I'm against signing a RB as well but they need some sort of rotation at the position.

Vikings closing in on deal with two-time Pro Bowler

We might need to start a separate live blog where we only break down Vikings' free agency moves, because they are busy this morning. On top of adding Jonathan Allen and Will Fries, the team is also closing in on a deal with Javon Hargarve, NFL Media reports

Hargrave is expected to be released by the 49ers on Wednesday and when that happens, he'll likely be signing with the Vikings. He'll be joining Jonathan Allen on a suddenly loaded defensive line.

The only knock on Hargraves is that he's 32 and coming off a season where he missed 14 games due to a partially torn right triceps.

I don't get why Greenlaw went for that cheap. I would much rather have Greenlaw than Wharton who we paid more for. We still need competent linebackers.

35 million for a guy coming off a horrible injury isn't cheap.

aside from the fact he probably had no interest in playing with a bottom dweller at this point in his career.

He's young and suffered the injury in the superbowl. He's still very much a pro bowl linebacker. Terrell Suggs suffered the same injury and went on to play at an elite level for 5 more years

ok now do the part where he wants to play on the worst defense in nfl history at the backend of his career

Which QB will have the better 2025 season?

Sam Darnold in Seattle

Geno Smith in Las Vegas

Justin Fields in New York

Geno.   The Raider OL is pretty good and they have a pretty good TE and pretty good (underrated) WRs.   But I would not rule out Fields--Id run a lot of pistol, R/P option, and build the OL.  He will need weapons.

We definitely need LBs! I do not think we’re done at all. Looks like we’re going edge rushers/linebackers/FS/slot cb in the draft. We’ll see if they make a substantial move at any of those soon. It wouldn’t make a lot of since to go high picks and big money at the exact same positions/slots imo..kinda like the idea of that jack sawyer guy(just from descriptions on here) running around , behind this Dline

    • With Schoen and Dan Morgan being tight I’d figure we knew this was coming and since he is released, Dan didn’t bite.    But, a quick search says this is at least 80% cap related. They have No cap space and save 8 or 9 million with releasing him.  He has been a captain his entire time there. 145 tackles this year.  They are picking 5th with a new staff and looking at Styles. Hitting that age 30 season and had a disc issue last year (meaning 2024) that did not require surgery.  I haven’t really watched him play but he activated the antennae.
    • OK, we are letting our top RB go.  We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks.  Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB?  I am sure he'd be a special team player as well.  I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target.    Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs.   40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character.  Smart.  Maybe, just maybe....
