Will Armanti Edwards beat out Bruce Nelson as our worst 2nd round pick ever?

His ST performance today was horrific, but his WR performance was much improved from last week (he caught all passes thrown his way today I think, not 100%). It was his 2nd game in the NFL. Major change of position like Dockery said. I know a lot of people are saying give the guy some time to develop and I know it becomes repetitive, but really... give the guy some time to develop.

I couldn't watch the game tonight, but could someone elaborate on Edwards' play as a WR tonight?. I felt as though last week he played ok, didn't stick out as good or bad, and the kid has some athleticism.

If he doesn't work out at PR, then so be it. He was drafted here for receiving purposes. He's right in the dog fight with every other WR. He certainly hasn't separated himself and secured a roster spot, but he hasn't truly been a disappointment at the receiver position. The FO knew it would take time, we as fans need to be reasonable.

He has his work cut out for him, and once he gets a season or two under his belt to mature and truly understand the game as a WR, then we will know if Armanti is the worth a 2nd round pick.

Edwards looked ok at WR. He didn't get many looks, but he caught everything thrown his way (did well to hang on after being rocked by a defender). He was awful at PR though. Muffed TWO punts.

    • Randy Moss ran a 4.3, Tee Higgins is a legit 220. He’s worked to get bigger/stronger since coming into the league. Tee Higgins makes tmac look skinny. The knock on McMillan is his play strength and getting pressed by physical corners, and he’s in this video shirtless literally looking like he doesn’t lift, ever. You don’t want your “big body” receiver that runs a 4.6 to be in the weight room and develop his play strength? Play strength he is documented on film as lacking?
    • yeah, we drafted a WR in round 1.  All signs points he is going to have a development window.  Just like XL (another first round WR).  Neither of which are natural pairings with Bryce Young and how he plays the game.   Drafting Tmac isn't going to drastically alter things this season most likely.  in his final 8 games.....he was also meh/okay in 5 of the 8.  Which is great given what he was, which wasn't shouldn't even be on a NFL field caliber.    But the Panther passing attack as a whole or even cherry picked to only post benching......was a subpar NFL pass attack (which ranked dead last on the season). Too many IMO focus on the improvement vs where it actually stacks up vs the rest of the league.     again, the defense SHOULD improve.  Almost a certainty.  It was historically horrific.  So even a good improvement there leaves in the bottom 3rd of the league.
