While the Carolina panthers are heading in a new direction in QB so has the browns by taking a gamble on Jake Delhomme.

Jake delhomme has attempted 23 passes this preseason and has completed 18 for 193 yards 1TD 0INT with a QB rating of 116

While Matt Moore has attempted 24 passes and only completed 10 for 89 yards with 1INT 0TDS. A QB rating of 35.

Panthers also drafted Jimmy clausen in case Moore wasn't what everyone thought he was. Jimmy hasn't been lighting it up either.. Hes only completed 17 out of 37 passes for 152 yards and 2ints. With a QB rating of 35.

Did the Carolina panthers give up on Jake to early? Will this decision of cutting their franchise quarterback bite them in the ass? Only time will tell..

As much as I hate making excuses, Carolina has not benefited from playing two of the top defenses in the NFL.

Sure they have, seems to me like that's what a couple of "trial by fire" QB's need...and I think D'Will is ready and has shown it.

We prolly knew that Jake would do well in more tolerant waters...love Cleveland...and he was never bad for long...just long enough. Hey, he left rich, got a job for rich money and is going to mellow out. He had to separate from his "daddy" who is now taking AE under his wing, but I wish him well and know we have got to re-focus on Matt Moore.

"I'll always be a Panther" JD

You can put a good Quarterback anywhere and he will make the talent around him look like superstars.

You can put a good Quarterback anywhere and he will make the talent around him better.

You can an ok Quarterback in and he will play to the level of the talent around him.

You play a bad Quarterback you need a great run game and an awesome defense to save him.

Which category do you think we fall under?

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
