Martin offers more special teams ability than Gettis and Edwards at this point, so it's not really surprising to me.

they need martin on return coverage and will be used more than edwards and gettis. unless one of them gets picked to do return duties, they will be inactive.

I haven't looked at all the gameday inactive possibilities but I think they will keep either Gettis or Edwards active.

So? Even if Edwards and/or Gettis were active they would still be the fourth and/or fifth WR. And then consider the kind offence we play in.

Bottom line is even if they were active they would rarley see the field.

I would rather have a guy active in Martin who can contribute every game in ST. Then two WR's who will rarley play.

Thats why you have a pure ST guy at a different position. Say..Witherspoon. Who showed a whole lot more than Martin, who showed nothing. Doesn't make sense you're gonna bench 2/3 of the WRs you picked over someone that can only play ST.
