Bucs, Panthers renew heated NFC South rivalry Sunday

Tampa Bay (1-0) will travel this weekend to renew its annual hate fest against Carolina (0-1), a team that has routinely smacked around the Bucs.

"I played at Auburn and it reminds me a lot of the Alabama-Auburn game where no matter what's the record, no matter who's hurt, who's up or who's down, it's going to be a physical game," Bucs running back Cadillac Williams said. "They don't like us and we don't like them. We definitely respect each other by the way we play, but it's going to be a blood fight."

"We're a run team and we don't try to hide that," Panthers coach John Fox said. "Typically, you're a little more physical when you run the ball than you are retreating when you're pass protecting"

:incazzato: You sure as hell fooled me last week, you didn't run it or pass protect and the only retreating was by the secondary.:gnorsi:

There are no "heated rivalries" in the NFC South. There may have been a slight inkling of one several years ago when Vick was playing in Atlanta and both teams were contending for the division crown, but now?

Rivalries may exist among players and teams to a certain extent, but for the most part they are a totally contrived entity kept alive by fans. And as long as Carolina Panther fans continue in their utter failure to "protect this house" there will never be any rivalries.

Any fan from any team can stroll into BOA, take their seat and say and/or do anything they want to without any intimidation factor, without any fear of fan retribution and without consequence.

You obviously weren't in section 549 against the Saints last year, then.

Must be in the wine and cheese section serving them appetizers. For the most part we don't play that in the upper deck. Then again when have the Bucs won to the point that they would be talking that much smack.

What alias is he anyway??

Yep. But not in section 529, row 12. I punked the hell out of two guys at the Titans preseason game during the 1st quarter. One was wearing a Cowboy hat and the other was wearing a Falcons jersey and hat. I wouldn't let them by to go piss and then mixed in some profane insults about Cowboy and Falcon fans. Thought they'd retaliate, but they never even came back.

I knew you were a wine and cheeser. I bet you tell folks to sit down on third down too don't you????

Yeah, that's me. You got me pegged.

I grew up in the original Raider Nation of the 60s and 70s and have spent more time in football stadiums than you realize. I've had my fair share of warnings and have only been asked to leave the stadium once, but I'm older now and while I stand most of the game, I find it much easier just to use my size and voice to keep the knuckle draggers in their place.

There are a couple who sit a couple rows in front of me at the stadium, always dressed in their gear and always introducing themselves to the opposing team's fans who sit around them. They have gone to security and complained about my use of the occasional use of "bullsh!t" "my a$$" and assorted other words that don't come close to crossing the line with kids around. Of course, they rarely pay nearly as much attention to the game as they do to the social circle around them.... but there's nothing more confusing and disturbing than supposed fans turning each other in.....

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
