The biggest take away, and Im surprised that no one mentioned it is where they asked Tilis if the reason for the structure of the deals being mostly 2 year deals is because of BY potential contract and he said,

"... we didnt think too much about Bryce and where he is, thats still TBD."

I appreciate his candor. Lots to prove this season for a number of guys including our QB. You see what you've got this season and go from there.

Don't overthink it. We can't draft to save our lives in the second round anyways. BPA at 8 and keep it moving.

Panthers' defensive overhaul in free agency means draft flexibility

I do not see it this way--we upgraded, but we will need to draft an Edge, WR, DT, CB, S, OT, and maybe a TE.  That is six or seven needs and I don't really see that as flexibility.

That is most likely going to be Ashton Jeanty.

I think it depends on how they quantify “BPA”.  From a talent, playmaker, insert superlative standpoint I think you may be correct.  If BPA grade takes into account need, positional value and other factors he will not likely be “BPA”.

Not disagreeing with you but when they drop BPA I can’t take it literally.   I thought about creating a topic on different factors that might go into BPA for these guys as I think it might spurn interesting conversation but never got around to it.

Probably more like best defender available.

What if BPA is a long snapper

I think you can leave out special teams based on limited playing time. BPA for a position of need is simply not BPA; it is drafting for need.  The two most likely available players at 8 who are at the top of their position are Jeanty and the LSU tackle.

He said something like the best bplayer that can help us or something to that affect.

We don't have any glaring holes in order to field a team and have flexibility. You can argue what we should do and there are valued arrangements for several positions. Which i believe is evidence they put themselves in a good situation for the draft.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
