Why not Armanti Edwards at QB?

Who cares what he was drafted as. Im not a App fan at all....now way shape or form....but I dont see why we can't give him a shot. Some of you need to come out of your box a little bit and realize that you might not be right about everything. Im not saying Armanti will do well at QB...but I don't see why we can;t give him a chance on the worst team in the league, to see if he can play.

Thats cause most of them think they are experts. You know that he played in the same division and beat Joe Flacco.

Everyone I talk with claims that Edwards is a Mike Vick clone. I just don't see it. Vick at 30, looks so much faster than Edwards does right now.

Maybe Edwards is just flustered and nervous and can't reach his true speed? I didn't watch him play in college, so all I have to go on is how he has looked - speed wise- during preseason, tc, ota, and the very very limited touches in the regular season. Is there more to him that I'm not seeing? Is he as fast or close to being as fast as Vick was?

Experimenting with Armanti can do us no harm at this point. Let's see what we have for value in him as a whole package. We spent a 2nd round pick, at least get to know exactly what we have in him as a player. As others have mentioned, having a threat on the ground from the QB position would help us move the chains much more than we currently are. Kid has a solid arm as well.

This being said,

Why not rotate Clausen and Armanti? Cater to another defenses weakness, and get Armanti some reps like Brad Smith of the Jets. Even if its once every few sets of downs, mix it up and keep the defense guessing if anything. While not playing QB, AE would continue to work with the receivers. Maybe I'm asking too much, but as a college QB the learning curve wouldn't be as drastic as him playing wideout.

Plus, it would be entertaining football once they built some chemistry as the season progressed. Cheers.

Looking at the interviews with Fox lately and the way the crowd reacted to Armanti's presence at the QB wildcat........He will def see a lot more reps at QB this next game.....Clausen or Moore will start....doesn't really matter which.......they'll be down by 14 or 17.......10: left in the first half Fox will put him in and catch back up 21-17 at the half and then they'll put Moore or Clausen back in for the second half and they'll stay in if the defence plays lights out for the second half.........final score 21-17 if its done this way........

Fox is basing his personnel decisions on the way the crowd reacts..................... Seriously?

Nah, Vick was a WAY better athlete coming out.

so they lied at the combine??????

Drew Brees isn't a very tall guy. Clausen throws falls 4 feet off the ground so his height isn't helping him. I'm not saying I want AE to play QB, but being shorter COULD be an advantage if he scrambles often, being behind big O-line makes it hard to see where he's running to before it's too late.

Also, stop saying he won two national championships. Busch league doesn't count.

dude the college football talent pool has grown exponentially compared to the size of the FBS. it's been at a point were there is talent outside the BCS for a while now. get with the program.

why do you think you see so many more fcs teams being competitive with bigger schools the last couple years? i.e. umass, jmu, richmond, appstate. . . . etc.

back to topic: kid looked pretty fast to me when he hit that hole sunday.
