Wondering about Clausen...

I know it's impossible to see with Clausen right now, but just look at how Moore has performed with this offense. Moore has the lowest QB rating of anyone in the NFL with > 100 passes (Clausen even a bit lower).

My point is that Matt Moore is a guy that has won more games in the NFL than ANY rookie QB on the field today and his numbers with this offense are garbage. What do you expect from a rookie QB? He's having a very hard time looking good with the talent around him and the scheme. Does that excuse his performance? No. He's got to make more plays plain and simple. But should we conclude he has no hope as an NFL qb? No I don't think you can put the nail in the coffin after a few games on the worst offense in the NFL.

As far as Clausen's tenure in college, it was the opposite of what is happening now. Weis got fired because his teams had no defense. The offense always put up enough points to win. Again, Clausen was the guy who went head to head with both Jake Locker and Andrew Luck in 2009 and clearly was the better QB on both occasions.

It's plain and simple. If Armanti Edwards were a better QB than Jimmy Clausen he wouldn't have been drafted to play WR. Enough with this bullshit about Armanti being better than Jimmy because it isn't true.

LOL if it wasn't the Carolina Panthers drafting both QB's you may have a point since our personnel people have absolutely no skill when it comes to scouting players.

For the record, out of all the QBs taken this year, Clausen, at the time, was conisdered the most NFL ready based upon the fact that he played in a pro-style offense that Charlie Weis used.

You look at guys like The Golden Calf of Bristol, Bradford, McCoy... None of them had ever played in a pro-style offense but instead a spread offense.

So I don't get the logic that Clausen wasn't the most pro-ready

I like how people say a QB has had 1 winning year like they play every damn position on both sides of the ball. Hard to win when your D gives up over 30PPG. He was overhyped, but whether he can play in the NFL remains to be seem. Also funny how PFFL shows up to bash Clausen. I thought he'd be in a corner in the fetal position crying about Moore.

we don't know who is better at QB. Probably never will.

Guess U have Never seen a team draft poorly, have U? So every NFL draft pick was done with full knowledge, by an expert that Never got any wrong? That's great. Actually Armanti was drafted as a WR because he is a great athlete and a great QB. Just because he is an inch shorter than what the NFL thinks they want in a QB is why he was drafted as a WR. My understanding was that they would give him a shot at QB though. The first position coach they put him with was the QB coach. Not his fault that they went hog wild on drafting poor QB's last year. A team that was so QB deprived that they went overboard. I guarantee you that Armanti Edwards is better than Jimmy Clausen. No doubt what-so-ever in my mind. You can take that to the bank.

I didn't mean I think he's a better qb. I simply stated I thought he had a stronger arm than Clausen and probably more accurate.

Armanti has a much stronger arm and much more accurate.

I apologize for the rant and it really wasn't directed specifically towards you. All of the Armanti Edwards at QB threads just bother the poo out of me.

Actually they bother me also. Tired of people knocking Edwards because someone said something ridiculous. People recite some of this crap because some loser said something off the top of their head that doesn't make sense, then it is a wide held belief. People need to think for themselves instead of being such sheep. Probably some of those people standing around watching the first wheel being made would have said, what's the use, or it will just roll around back to where it was, so what's the big deal.

"Most Pro Ready"....huh, did you read the article concerning the UNC agent debacle that said that people were paid to rank Clausen higher and to talk positively? Maybe that had something to do with him being so pro ready. Really doesn't matter if he can't play well anyway.

Armanti is the next Mike Vick minus the dog fighting.

Vick has never had the passing arm of Armanti until recently. Vick has gotten much better passing recently, still think Armanti is better. Running I would say would be about the same.

Jesus Christ, you wonder why App State homers have a bad name....Armanti hasn't even thrown an NFL pass or so much as run for a first down and you have dudes claiming that he's a better passer than Vick and equal to him in speed. And this is coming from a guy who can't stand Vick.

The only people I can think that actually say that App has a bad name are the handful of losers that sit around touching themselves on this website.

Back to topic, Clausen blows. He's been going to qb camps since he was 7 and this is the best he's gotten to? I'd rather have a natural athlete who can throw accurately, hand the ball off without fumbling, and take off b/c our oline and wide outs arent very good.
