Pray it's Cowher and Pray they don't f**k it up and not take a QB. Buffalo destroyed Cinci today so its all ours unless we screw up and win a couple.

It's not gonna be Cowher. Not Gruden either.

Harbaugh, Grimm, Zimmer, maybe Frazier or McDermott. Perry Fewell could elevate his name if the Giants look good tonight.

Ah yes Cheap ass richardson won't give up the money or the power for a good coach, I forgot

George Seifert once had the best winning percentage of any coach in history. His tenure here didn't go so well, though :nonod:

There are plenty of good candidates out there not named Bill Cowher.

I hope for Harbaugh or Fewell if his D finishes strong this year.

I don't want former star HCs either. I'd take a college coach or a DC or OC as HC though.

Agree. Cowher and Gruden need to stay in broadcasting.

He probably will actually
i think the old man is going to be feeling horrible for the way this season went and he'll be doing a lot to try and make up for it. that includes opening up thatcheckbook...something that normally he isn't adverse to doing.

If Cowher is head coach next season, I think he would want Ryan Mallet as his QB. So if it were possible he would trade down to either the third, fourth, or fifth overall pick to draft him. (along getting some much needed draft picks from the trade). There are so many ways for the Panthers to handle this, they can really come out and be the victors of the NFL 2011 draft. (And if there is no season next year, that would make us the unofficial champions for that year.)

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
