Are you a Panther fan or a Carolina football fan??

I am a Carolina Panthers fan because they are the hometown team and are in Charlotte. I had a team for decades before the Panthers were born in the Eagles.

Would I support them if they moved to LA in the middle of the night and abandoned us. Hell no!! And I would be part of the class action suit suing the Panthers for leaving me high and dry after paying for 3 PSLs.

I would actively root against them just like I do the New Orleans Hornets. If Richardson abandoned us, screw him and the prganization and I would abandon him.

Not very Christian like on Sunday morning. Maybe I will feel different after Church but I doubt it.

lol you guys think the team cares where they play? Only people abandoning you in that situation would be the front office, 'suits', and I am already pissed like hell at them and hate them fully.

Real question I guess would be are you a fan of strictly the team or of the whole organization? I hate our stadium, I hate our stadium atmosphere, I hate our fugly cheerleaders, I hate our stupid 1970 philosophy and I hate our stupid coaches who support it, I hate how our organization expresses no emotion and is always 'strictly business' which then translates in the stadiums, I hate always sitting next to the opposing fans, I hate redneck fickle fans and I hate having the game at 1 pm, I hate our stupid mascot and our dumb southern hick song that goes along with our trashy redneck dirty ass fans....shall I go on? lol

I guess my point is I love the team and the players and love to show them support but honestly everything else already sucks, not much to like about it at least for my personal tastes. I am not a fan of really anything panther related except for the team itself, the most important aspect. Everything/body else is just interchangeable to me. My loyalty is with the Panther team, not to anything else.

I loved the Hornets when they were in Charlotte but hate them now. If the Panthers moved I would become Redskins fan again. I was living in Charlotte when they got the team (going to UNCC). I am back in Virginia now but have stayed loyal to the Panthers. They need to stay loyal to the fans and Charlotte however.

As a child, all my friends were "Skins" and "Steeler" fans - and a few bandwagon cowgirl fans. As NC didn't have a team, that was pretty much the norm. In 1976 I decided to root for a team on the other side of the country - I became a SeaHawk fan - (ok, fling the poo),

When the Panthers were born, I was excited and happy to have a home state team.

If they were to leave - and another team came here - it would be a hard decision to make. I feel like I would stay a panther fan because I doubt the team coming here would be worth rooting for anyway.

Sadly, I agree with most of this. Especially the bold

I am a Carolina first sports fans. I would always root for the local team no matter what. If the current Panthers left then I would hope they lose, I would not follow them to a new city. I have teams I like from other areas but no team I would pull for over a local team. I am a Tarheels fan but don't wish for Duke to lose unless they are playing UNC. I would rather Duke bring a championship to the state than it go somewhere else altogether.

Panther fan only. I couldn't see supporting them if they moved to another state/city. If they retained the actual ownership, roster, and team name... I might keep them in my heart. But if they move to a state I detest (let's say, Texas, almost anywhere north of Maryland, etc), then I'd have to drop them.

That being said, if a new team came along to North/South Carolina, I'd immediately pick them up. The Panthers got me into football as a kid because they were the regions real first team. I gotta support the locals. If you move to another city or state outside the region, you aren't the same team. Just like the Ravens are NOT the Colts. The fans shouldn't mix. It just isn't right. It was okay with the Raiders because it was a very local move. It wasn't so drastic.
