Haynesworth lashed out at his "haters" yesterday ...

ASHBURN, Va. (AP)—Even by Albert Haynesworth standards, it was quite a day. A teammate called him out, essentially for being selfish. He got publicly summoned to the coach’s office. A television report suggested he appeared “hung over” at practice last week.

Then, late in the day, the Washington Redskins defensive lineman had his own say. Appearing on a radio station, Haynesworth blamed the report on “haters” that don’t like him, said he’s too upset to meet with coach Mike Shanahan on Tuesday, and again proclaimed he could be the greatest ever if he could play the way he wants to play.

“I believe there’s some kind of haters in the organization, that they don’t like me,” Haynesworth said on 106.7 The Fan. “I don’t know if it’s players, I don’t know if it’s coaches, I don’t know who it is. Obviously somebody who doesn’t like me, which is fine. But when you go out there and start making up lies, then, yeah, I’ve got something to say.”

Haynesworth conceded he was “a minute late” for an 8 a.m. meeting Friday and perhaps didn’t have the best of practices the day before.

“If I didn’t have a good practice, sue me,” he said. “Everybody doesn’t go out and have a great practice every day. But that doesn’t mean I can’t play on Sunday.”

Shanahan said he plans to meet with Haynesworth and won’t discuss anything about the matter until the meeting has taken place. The coach declined to say whether Haynesworth will remain on the roster for the rest of the season.

“I think it’s fair for me to talk to him before I talk to you,” Shanahan told reporters.

Haynesworth said the meeting with have to wait until Wednesday.

“I’m not going into the office tomorrow,” he said Monday. “I’m still heated over this. I just got sick of it.”

Hope we take a chance on him

this I'd trade a fifth rounder for him...I know it sounds like an awful idea but assume he comes back with a vengeance. We affectively solve the DT problem and can use our picks on Luck Green or Peterson, and depth; and our free agent money on more depth

Just release the guy already... LOL!

This is classic Synder, he's more concerned with the money he spent on Haynesworth then with the effect his presence has on the football team.

The Panthers have plenty of problems right now, but I wouldn't trade any of them for the problems the Skins have. The whole organization is diseased and rotten to the core.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
