McNabb was a bridge/mentor for Luck or Cam in 2011

Hello, Im a redskins fan(hurts to say it right now) but i have a few questions

say you guys get the number 1 pick would you guys take the deal of

Our First (potential top 6 pick) Mcnabb, Haynseworth, 2012 3rd, 2012 4th

that way you guys get a QB for now.. AND Cam Newton who most believe can be as good as McNabb... AND you get Haynseworth which i know people are iffy on getting him but if he plays in the 4-3 hes ok and quiet and will be a FORCE to open up holes for your LBs...

then you add a 3rd and a 4th in a potentially DEEP class next year with players being scared of the lockout therefor they will return to school...

Also what chances do you guys think you have of re-signing Kalil?

1- Skins are going to release McNabb by all indications. So, if Carolina, or any other team wants him, just need to wait until he's UFA and be the highest bidder.

2- Being from the Redskins broadcast area (unfortunately), and seeing AH "play" football is embarrassing. He has not been in shape the entire time I've watched him play for Washington. He gets tired, and does this silly "roll around on the ground like he's hurt" thing so that he can trot off and take a breather after any series that goes 5+ plays. No thanks. Somebody else can eat that ridiculous contract.

3- Kalil will be signed by Carolina.

4- Orakpo is the only guy on Washington roster that really intrigues me. Maybe you guys will cut him for absolutely no reason at all and we can sign him; ala Stephen Davis.

5- Shanny is only going to improve over Zorn by one win, and not even match Zorn's first year. How can you live with that?

Nothing against you personally Dro, but I was reading over at Extremeskins.com to see the reaction to the McNabb benching and I love how Skins fans think somebody is going to trade the # 1 overall pick to them so they can draft Luck, LOL

NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is passing on Luck.

Pretty much.

Delusional to think you'd get the #1 pick for McNabb. Heck, you couldn't even have gotten that for him last year. You're sure as heck not getting it after a season when he's slid to third string behind Rex Grossman and John Beck.

And no, packaging him with Haynesworth won't get you any better value either.

(heck, it might make the deal worse)

Newton learning from McNabb? O.O!!

If it were up to me, I'd cut Pike. Then whichever FA QB is available that looks like they would best fit in our UPDATED offensive play calling, sign him. However, I'm not sure how much I'd be willing to have dropped on that route though. It would be reasonable, but also respectful. Something not too long, but also maybe some performance based bonuses (to help reduce the contract). This way we can focus on what (again, in my opinion) we could really use should we be able to draft Luck (or Newton if we don't get the #2) and sign a lights out DT, TE, or CB (in that order). If I can't get them for a fair price, sign Moore,

Let Clausen, Luck/Newton, FA QB go out in training camp all with their fair shot of earning the starting position. There should be a clear cut idea at least on who #3 will be, with the preseason being utilized well enough to see who the starter is. If the coach likes Armanti and is able to coach him up to still be an option should anybody go down.

If Armanti looks like hot trash in training camp and preseason, I'm not sure if I'd keep him over a clearly better option. Wallace Wright and Charley Martin could be interesting.

McNabb is not going to go somewhere as a backup unless he has no choice. I could definitely see some teams who would pick him as their starter not their backup.

And they will likely get him for a low draft pick or likely nothing at all unless s team wants to make sure they get him by trading for him. Wouldn't a team have to pick up his contract in the event of a trade? If so, then I suspect no one will pick him up in and wait for Washington to release him.

How would you guys react to that? McNabb would be the franchise's 1st NFL caliber QB since Jake in 2008 and he could be a good mentor to a young guy. it'd be all worthless if the WR corps aren't upgraded to NFL standards but I think it would be a start for Carolina.

Our WRs are not as bad as you think. We'd have to drastically change our offense to a more west coast style. I'd rather have Vick.

1- Skins are going to release McNabb by all indications. So, if Carolina, or any other team wants him, just need to wait until he's UFA and be the highest bidder. i doubt we cut him due to the fact that we can at least get a pick from someone Zona/Minny

No thanks. Somebody else can eat that ridiculous contract. i disagree he played very well last year and made ANDRE CARTER a 11 sack guy... he dominates the line and makes everyone on defense much better. He just hates Shanny and pissy because we went to 3-4

3- Kalil will be signed by Carolina. you guys might i just hope my team offers him more so we can pair him with Williams and Davin Joseph who i believe we will also sign since he fits ZBS and is a Bruce Allen(our GM) pick.

4- Orakpo is the only guy on Washington roster that really intrigues me. Maybe you guys will cut him for absolutely no reason at all and we can sign him; ala Stephen Davis. lol keep wishing..

5- Shanny is only going to improve over Zorn by one win, a

nd not even match Zorn's first year. How can you live with that? Shanny came in with a squad that has about 10 starters and is only 13 games in Considering we changed schemes on both sides of the ball and are going under a change only have 5 wins so far doesn't upset me realistic expectations shouldnt be made until at least his 2nd year.. Considering the new CBA being in limbo signing FAs this past year were kinda tricky.. we had limited picks last year and he made a play for McNabb which looked good at first but who knew mcnabb work ethic on fixing certain things about himself was so bad which is shannys pet peeve..

hes gone b4 we ever have to pay that 10mill roster bonus... we only pay 3.75 mill LOL

Exactly. You know that, I know that, and every GM in the league knows that. There may be the regular nutty teams (Raiders, Cowboys, usually Redskins, Vikes) that will jump out of their shoes to overpay a guy, but the Redskins have benched him for the year. Made him 3rd string. Is that what you'd do with a guy you wanted to shop around? That's a clear sign they have no intention of keeping him, which reduces his trade value significantly.

If somebody throws a 5th or 6th rounder out there for him, I'd still be a bit surprised, but I could see a few teams willing to reach that far (see above "nutty teams").

PS- I appreciate Redskin fans a lot. They've been fed garbage for almost a decade, with little to be optimistic about, but they still care about their team. An interesting lot they are, it's like they gain strength in mourning over having Dan Snyder as an owner. Best of luck with getting something out of McNabb, Dro, but I'm not sold that or on Shanny as the answer up here in Washington, and hope you guys can turn it around (except when you play Carolina).
