Bobcats may make a run at the oft injured Yao Ming

The Rockets have begun talks regarding a variety of options designed to motivate teams seeking cost savings to make a deal, a person with knowledge of the Rockets’ thinking said. The Rockets have spoken with Sacramento, which has the sort of young talent the Rockets would seek, and Charlotte, which would more likely have to include attractive draft picks along with contracts, according to one individual familiar with the talks.

The Kings have been steadfast in a refusal to deal first-round pick DeMarcus Cousins, despite a rocky start. The Bobcats are more likely to offer players who don’t fit in to the Rockets’ plans, such as Boris Diaw and Nazr Mohammed, along with desirable draft considerations.

I think the Cats would offer Nazr and Gana, and a 1st. Boris seems more likely to go to Orlando as where Jax may be heading to Chicago, but no one really knows.

If the Bobcats could get these three trades to work I would be ecstatic.

Here is what our roster would look like if all three trades went down.

Center- Yao Ming, Kwame Brown

Power Forward- Tyrus Thomas, Taj Gibson, James Johnson, Eduardo Najera

Small Forward- Gerald Wallace, Dominic McGuire, Derrick Brown

Shooting Guard- Jason Richardson, Gerald Henderson, Matt Carroll

Point Guard- D.J. Augustin, Shaun Livingston, Sherron Collins

Yao is out for the season, and a free agent next summer. Many believe his career is over.

Houston is under the impression that his contract is worth some trade value because it is in its final year and the team is only out about one half of the cash money due to an insurance contract he has that will pay back some of it. However the cap hit would still be about 14 million.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
