been listening to a lot of Pete Seeger, Woodie and Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and Jesse Wells lately. Jesse is something else. i love it. Odetta and  Richie Havens are part of my rotation pretty frequently as well. didn't know about Father John Misty. checking him out now.

Jesse Welles is an interesting cat.

I see his videos and think he's too young to see things the way he does, but then I ask myself how old were Pete, Woodie, Bob, and so many more

He's 32 years old so he's been around a little while. Definitely enough to see some stuff that isn't right.

Not sure if you've ever seen any of his earlier stuff with his old band. Dude could rock. Seems no matter what genre his music is in, he's always from an earlier one. Fits well with 90s grunge/alt stuff with his band and his solo stuff is definitely harkening back to late 50s-60s Seeger/Guthrie/Dylan stuff.

i watch these different tv shows with my kids all the way through. One of my daughters and i are on our second run through Bones and one of the episodes had one song being played and i said "that sounds like Patty Griffin" which it was. Such an incredible talent. Her debut record was one of the most memorable for me in the 90s. Probably that one and Jeff Buckley were the two i can remember the most listening to for the first time. Blown away from both.

Patty Griffin's debut is a simple but incredibly passionate work of art. What is really cool was the story behind how it got released.

Patty Griffin’s story plays out like a real-life version of Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, with Griffin taking the end of her marriage as a catalyst to pursue her dream of musical stardom. She sent a demo tape of just her and a guitar to A&M Records. Superproducer/Chic frontman Nile Rodgers loved it, but he was unsatisfied with all the attempts to clean it up for mass consumption. So in the end, he just went ahead and released Griffin’s demo tape unedited.

Nile Rodgers is not exactly a man who’s known for minimalism, so when he makes a decision like that, you know it means something. And he was exactly right. You can’t improve on a record that lands in your office already perfect. Living with Ghosts gets at what draws people to folk music. That age-old power of sitting in the same room with a musician around a hearth or campfire, nothing standing between you and the music.

Just bought Jesse Wells' newest album. The kid is good, really good.

and the revolution will not be televised is one of the greatest media moments ever.

GSH is so terribly underrated. He was poetic rap before there was such a thing. He was soulful hip-hop before there was such a thing.

Liv Warfield. Was part of Prince's New Power Generation. Her latest vinyl "The Edge" definitely has that Prince vibe, but her lyrics throughout the album are phenomenal.

    • He has made some good throws yes. His arm isn’t great by any professional measure though It might be decent enough, but the poor footwork inhibits it.  So he has to really focus on that and from what I’ve seen he is not consistent.    peace.
    • If only Bryce were 8'1" then CJ wouldn't have needed Woody Marks to carry him against the Titans nor the defense to carry him with 3 picks vs. Cooper Rush. If he were a real QB, he'd have thrown for over 250yds and the Texans wouldn't be 2-3. /s See? I can do the same dumb, lame poo that y'all do. Doesn't this make the board a better experience overall? 🙂
    • Their defense is on track to be worse than ours last year. Their run D is in the bottom half but their pass D is horrible.    32nd overall D, 32nd passD, 23rd rush D We are going to have to throw the ball against them, which means down field where they are vulnerable. Problem is Turnover Fred struggles to push the ball down the field and we have the 26th ranked pass offense. Running will help but will have to beat them through the air. On the flip side, Dallas’ offense is awesome.    1st overall, 3rd pass, 8th run.    But Evero’s defense is ranked 12th right now with the pass D around 10th and rush D around 14th.    If we can take care of the football (looking at Bryce) and we make plays down the field (also looking at Bryce) we can win, yes.
