Simple question regarding JR and the negotiations

I'm probably a little slow, and I haven't read the other thread about how we need to STFU if we're angry at JR, so if this was asked and answered there please forgive me.

What I'm curious about is where all the information about negotiations is coming from. It seems to me that about 90-95% of it is either given to the media by their lawyer directly, or it shows up on PFT as speculation based on something a player has said. Now, am I wrong about this?

And that begs another question. When has Florio ever had anything nice to say about the Panthers? As long as JR is leading the negotiations, I just about expect him to have something negative to say about the owners, although he's really just acting as their messenger.

If I'm wrong about that, I'm sorry. But if it makes sense to you, and you've been bashing JR based on something either DeMaurice Smith or Mike Florio has reported, doesn't it make you feel kind of like a douche about now?

It's pretty clear they're using JR as the "bad cop". I don't think you'll hear anyone say otherwise. That to me means that they may be trying to break up the union.

If they're interested in making a deal, they'll find a way to shut JR up.

JR was the bad cop way before that. He is leading the owners in negotiations and they have been bashing him since last year. Nothing new except they used two of the most popular players to try to sway the fans to the NFLPA.
