If we weren't homers we probably wouldn't be on a message board talking about the panthers future in february. However, with that being said, we still know this team better than the media ever will. The media still has no idea who the hell David Gettis is even though he could end up being one of our top players within the next 5 years. All the media cares about is Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh, etc. Garrard's hail mary pass would've gotten played 100x more if it was a big market team. It just comes with the territory.

Imo, The media thinks we need tons of help because like many of you have said, They thought all we needed was a QB last year and Clausen would be the answer. Do you really expect the media to east their crow and admit that they were all wrong about Clausen. Clausen could still show improvement so it is to early to call him a bust, But the media and analysts thought he could come in as a rookie and succeed just like Bradford did. Obviously they were wrong but you will never here them admit it. Yes we are all homers in one way or another but the media is just clueless. We had the worst QB play in the league and the lowest scoring offense. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out our offense starts with a QB, and you build around him.

Same reason why they all were hyping Peppers and you never heard a word about CJ yet CJ had an overall better season then Peppers.

For every ridiculous statement by a ridiculous panther fanboy on this forum there is an opposing chicken little "sky is falling" post by an equally ridiculous "panther fan" who more often than not claims to be living in the "real world", or based his opinions on "realism". Which is a bunch of horseshit usually.

THis team reminds me of Atlanta when Mike Smith came in. Drafted a Qb in the first filled in some pieces by bringing in free agents like Gonzales and Turner and improved the defense. Turned around in 1 year to an 11-5 playoff team.

Not saying things will work out for us that well but we are not a terrible team. Most of those rookies and backups have a year starting experience as least and we are installing better schemes. We will get to see what a new hungry coaching staff can do with this team. Right now I am opptimistic.
