Are the Panthers still coddling Bryce?

We have a solid backup in Dalton. Bringing in a young QB early in the draft would only serve to create a QB controversy for no good reason. If Bryce regresses this year then we'll know it's time to go looking for a QB in next year's draft. Taking Dillon Gabriel or Quinn Ewers this year wouldn't have changed that.

Dalton is not anywhere close to a solid backup.  Dude looked washed and horrible after the vegas game.

I’m still not convinced Bryce is the guy but I don’t think there have been any great options for us to bring in for competition. Bryce is the guy this year unless he shows he isn’t then we have Dalton, but in that case we are realistically looking at 2026 QBs anyways.

Yeah dude I am not going to play that game with you, Andy dalton was the worst qb in the nfl or close to it after the vegas.   If we cannot do better then that then whats the point?

1) committing to your QB is not a bad thing

2) putting your QB in the best situation to win by getting him a good OL and giving him a lot of weapons is not a bad thing.

We are heading in the right direction. Feeling some positivity about the team is not a bad thing.

I think they're committed to him but I think the coddling stopped with the benching. Commitment isn't necessarily the same as coddling. The benching and how Bryce responded to it is by far the most promising development in his career so far. He couldn't have possibly handled it better and I think the Panthers got everything they could've hoped for out of it.

      I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.

      I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.

      Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
