He's also going to be 35 going into the season and on the last year of his deal. I think we should be looking to see what we could get.

Thielen is a leader not only in the receiving room, but a leader on the offense and team.  He is a crucial piece.  It's not like he lost a major step in his game.  It would be a set back to move him.  With him is how we make a playoff push.

I like Thielen he has great chemistry with Bryce and is super clutch but if he's going to hang up the cleats next offseason then this will be a good time to sell high on his value. I'm all for keeping him if he's communicated his willing to resign and play for at least this year plus the next. I feel like by the trade deadline we should have a feel on his willingness to resign and play in 2026.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
