The definition of a jag journeyman. I wish him the best for us.

At this point in the offseason, unless/until there are some cap casualty cuts, pretty much any signing we're going to make will be JAGs.

Which is fine, you can only upgrade so many starting spots in any given offseason with long term players, I think between FA and the draft we had a really good offseason, maybe our best in a long time.

Show a season of growth, particularly if Bryce can prove to be a long term solution and then next season we focus on a few more key signings, a couple DB's and LB's, with the possibility of an elite pass rusher pending how these young guys do this year and we have the makings of a solid playoff caliber team.

Man DM needs to move on a Jalen Ramsey trade to help our young WR grow against a seasoned vet

Horn is better than Ramsey at this point and I'd rather not use the cap space needed for Ramsey's contract and just roll it over into our cap next offseason to use for signing a younger player who can grow with the team.

If Miami wants to trade him, given them having playoff aspirations if Tua can stay healthy (even though I still don't see them as actual SB contenders), then it's a sign that he's on a strong decline right now and not worth the contract.

All good points but our depth behind Horn (who notoriously gets hurt) is horrendous.....I guess DM is gambling on our rush putting enough pressure on QB to help with inadequate depth/talent on the back end of our defense

Fair, but even with Ramsey and a healthy Horn for 17 games, we're still not a contender and still might not even be a playoff team anyways.  So even if Horn goes down and we had Ramsey, we're still screwed.

Which is why if it's make that trade or don't use the cap space, I'd rather roll it over to next offseason to have more cap room anyways.  If we're talking about trading for a 26 year old with a big contract, totally different, but not someone who turns 31 this season.

Hell, if we're talking anything with Ramsey, I'd be more curious if they think he has the right skill set to be our Free Safety move.

If he can make the Charles Woodson move from elite CB to elite S late in his career, then you might be cooking with some gas.

That's would be interesting. Bringing back Bradbury off the street for the same move could also be a long shot option

Horn has yet to be better than Ramsey to date. I am sure that will change eventually but Ramsey is still(including last season) a better CB than Horn.

I don't think you will see Miami move on from Ramsey this season anyway. The cap hit would be pretty extreme. That is a more likely move next offseason.

I like Jaycee a lot and appreciate his leadership but to say he's above Ramsey right now is based on hopium let's be realistic. He's got a great deal to prove this season. I’m hoping to see that he firmly establishes himself amongst his peers.

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
