XL needs his contract reworked already.  Basically that outlaws him from being a country boy going forward.

I don't agree with this mentality.

I understand the fear of injury situation, but you can't control people's lives like that.

You are only worked up because you are seeing it.  I imagine countless other athletes are doing risky stuff.  This wasn't even that bad.  He has a lot to risk too.  It's not like he is out there TRYING to get injured and ruin his career.  Calm down.

No one is upset.  And what I referred has been happening.

Patrick Mahomes has an offseason basketball clause in his contract.  A ton of other physical activites like jet skiing, baseball and all sorts of physical activities are written into his contract.

XL likely already has ATVs and stuff written into his contact.  League already has been inserting a lot of that stuff into basic contracts for non-top tier players and we have seen it pan out.

Doesn't make it right.  And as you put it, you wanted to ban him from being country, which is essentially policing who he is as a person lol

I get protecting the "asset", but banning people from living their life is crazy.

Russell Wilson likes to play helicopter pilot.  I would deem that WAY more dangerous.  Those things scare me.  I still wouldn't want to keep him from doing it if I were his boss.  I would just try not to think about it, haha.

Interesting topic.  I have had a few NFL friends and one told me that he could not work out or train unless the activities and facilities were approved. AI: In many NFL contracts, certain activities are restricted, and injuries sustained during those activities can lead to the voiding of contract guarantees or even the entire contract. These restrictions often include dangerous activities like skydiving, rock climbing, or even engaging in contact sports like boxing. Additionally, injuries sustained while working out at non-team facilities or during personal recreational activities may be classified as "non-football injuries," potentially impacting the player's compensation.

Having said that, I question the reason the person filming this was not helping.  Secondly, the decision to put it on social media makes it seem a bit prearranged.  I do not think this would violate his contract, but I do think it is a bit stupid on his part in that he could be injured.

It's not a problem until it's a problem. Pro athletes have to be smart about the risks they take off the field. Non-football injuries create outs in contracts.

I know my opinion/stance doesn't matter, but just to be clear, I would be cool if it were like...

If you do this and get hurt, it invalidates your contract.

Versus you are banned from doing this activity being not cool.

Make the player assume the risk for their behavior and danger level.

I am cool with it creating outs, but not outright banning an individual from doing something.

Social media age everyone wants to film first.

As far as risk and NFL contract clauses go I get the need for the convo. Just one of those things.

But at the end of the day Xavier is just a legitimately good person all around. Now let's see him ball out in his Panthers uni.

I wonder how many athletes ride ATVs. Suffice it to say that X isn't nearly the only one. I mean, yeah if you're out there being irresponsible it can become an issue as far as safety is concerned. Other than that, it's just something to do. The trails in SC can't compare to the ones in CO (but still fun). The scenario in the vid was no big deal though. Dude got stuck; X helped him get out. The camera man wasn't about to get in the mud, hence all his stupid comments. You could tell that he was young.
