Ok the first paragraph made me laugh. You think he is washed and I understand it. I just don’t think it’s outlandish for someone to think he is in the top 50 in the league. It’s not really a compliment but just means he is an average backup. I’d put him in the Joe Flacco category personally. Old starter with tons of experience that can come in and run your offense if needed, but not someone you want playing more than 3 games or so.

There are a very few number of legitimate NFL level QB's on this planet. I'm not saying he is not capable of being a backup still given that very limited number. All I'm saying is some people can choose to look at the reality glass half full or glass half empty. I'm relatively trying to remain near the middle. I do appreciate that he has experience with which he can pass on to Bryce. But I think his resume is being put on a level that does not line up. It's interesting you mentioned Flacco. I'd take him mentoring the Panthers starting QB in a heartbeat. At least Joe has won in the playoffs. And won a Super Bowl to boot. He might have only had success largely in that season but man what a run he led that offense on. I can respect that. I'm not saying I don't like or respect Andy. I do like him. And he's a ginger. But as a local fan who has seen losing losing losing mediocrity and a few very short lived seasons of potential greatness. Give me any ounce of greatness every time. Then we can hang our hat on mentoring at some level. That's my position and all I'm trying to convey. Thanks for the chat.

No I get it. I think I was just saying top 50 isn’t really anything to hang your hat on. He is a ginger too. Good point. I’m not here to die on an Andy Dalton hill.
