what about the that bomb VT threw to #0 after that SC ruling.  That should have been a catch? It was to the sideline and he didn’t control it to the ground….he fell out of bounds?

it does get logically weird to have to control it to the ground if you aren’t out of bounds….but don’t if you are out of bounds or in the endzone.

I think you either leave the rule as is or you have to say the ground can’t cause an incompletion.   If given those two choices, the flawed first is better I think.

whatever the rules are…teams are going to feel screwed I would think

Well the ground cant cause a fumble so to me it seems weird that it can cause an incompletion.

Wild week 0 + 1 but not as crazy as we have seen before imo

  • Kansas St put up a fight, albeit an ugly one against Iowa State only to turn around and barely survive against North Dakota.
  • Looks like this Florida State team might be more like the ACC winners than the 2-win squad from last season. Bama still looks competitive but FSU clearly wanted it more.
  • Frank Reich and Mike Shula are still dumpster fire coaches, but it is fun remembering the 2015 Panthers watching Shula call plays for LaNorris. Speaking of... as much as it pains me to say it, South Carolina looks better than Clemson at the moment.
  • South Florida's thumping of Boise State put to bed any postseason playoff drama for the Broncos.
  • Tarleton State over Army in 2OT!? Navy is going to smoke them this season.
  • Looks like Wake Forest's strategy of recruiting older players with leftover COVID eligibility to play while pursuing their graduate degree has run its course after barely holding on 10-9 vs Kennesaw State. I've got a few friends from ATL that went there and they were lighting up social media. 😂
  • Close games for GT/Colorado, LSU/Clemson, and Texas/Ohio State. Nussmeier looked like the better prospect between him, Arch, and Cade. Drew Allar and LaNorris also looked really good. The QB class this season is going to be fun to watch.
  • Tulane whooping up on Northwestern surprised me. Not that the latter is a powerhouse but I wouldn't have bet on that score. Going to be an interesting team to keep an eye on.
  • I thought Kentucky would have ran the score up on Toledo, not keep it within one score.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
