Miami should be thankful they didn't make the ACC championship game.

If you're not in the running for a bye you're better off not having to play in a championship game. fuged up but true.

And I know they say that championship game losses aren't held against you but that's bullshit unless it fits what they already wanted to do (Bama in). If Miami had played last night and lost they'd be out along with BYU and ND would've been in. The whole "championship game losses don't hurt you" narrative would've died an awful death. LOL

Notre Dame was playing well and are a good team but on paper they didn’t beat a top team and lost the 2 games they played against them.  I think they got it right considering the rules/criteria.

I agree. Their schedule had two top teams and they lost both games. The crying about it has reached ridiculous levels. ND is just so use to getting their way and forcing inclusion based on ratings. They (fans) even had the gall to complain about Miami losing to SMU and Louisville even though both spent time in the top 25 (not just preseason) as if they were horrible teams yet ND made it last year losing to a legitimately bad team in Northern Illinois.

I laugh at people like Vic Lombardi saying it’s wonderful that ND called a wambulance to announce they’d skip a bowl game as if that should earn them respect. They just did that to avoid a potential embarrassing loss after all the crying.

I'm indifferent to Notre Dame overall. Not a hater. However if they don't play a championship game against another competitive team they can't cry about Alabama 3rd loss. Play that extra game then you have a legitimate argument.

Supposedly they already came up with a new rule for ND because they cried so much: NY Post.

I don't know how anyone isn't in the "fug ND" camp.

So, now not only do these douchebags have their own personal board member on the 11 CFP board whike everyone else is represented by a conference representative, but now they have a special clause to protect only them? I mean, what in the fug???

It's beyond past time to tell ND to just go fug themselves. Your rep is off the CFP board and you can either join a conference or you can fug off. Your special status is over. We're not doing this poo anymore. If you want to be considered for the playoffs moving forward you can join a conference like everyone else.

I would rather see a return to the old way of doing it. Go back to pre-BCS days. It will not happen, but this has rapidly become a bunch of petty foolishness and a money-grab.

I know people hated the BCS system but a lot of that was due to the limitation of only two teams. There are always going to be more than two teams that are capable of winning it all. But there has to be some sort of concrete system in place to rule out fugery. Just like the NFL playoffs. The winner of a bad division might have a worse record than a team missing a wildcard slot but it is what it is. Them's the rules. Nobody changed them and everyone knew what it was going in. It is what it is. There needs to be the same type of system for the college playoffs. But the reality is that ESPN has paid a ton of money and they want the drama. It drives viewership.
