Panthers make a change at LB

I understand it.  It is just that time of year.  We have always been historically above average at linebacker, so this one is an abnormally large pill to swallow.  Everyone has a weakness.  Just unusual for ours to be LB.

I am actually more enthusiastic about this roster and front office than I have been in a very long time.  When was the last time we talked about WR being a strength?  That alone is exciting.

We are many years removed from that part of our history. It's retreating far enough in the rear view that our "historic" average is steadily getting fuged up as we move forward in time.

I mean, I realize this is true, but it also hurts my heart, so we are gonna pretend this little convo never happened.

Dan Morgan, Luke, TD, Sam Mills, and even Beason will forever be tacklin' fuel for my mind.

Yep. It was a proud tradition. Maybe it will one day return again.

No kidding. The magic year of 2015 is now a decade ago. We haven’t won a playoff game in a decade.

It feels like we improved this offseason but I’m still cautious about getting my hopes up.

And how has that worked out for us overall? A big part of our historic roster building issues has been way over spending both in draft capital and cap space on LBs and RBs while most of the rest of the league was focusing on QBs, WRs, CBs, and linemen.

I was really about to post this. We all (at least most) were ready for Carolina to become an offensive-minded team. Defense keeps you competitive, but you can't win the big game without offense anymore. The fact that TMac was the first pick after last year's defensive fiasco says a lot. Confusing at first, then incredibly refreshing after a few days (maybe because they drafted Nic and Princely). This team has finally turned the corner with it's mindset, and I'm here for it.

I still predict it is unlikely we see an above .500 record before the 2030 NFL season.

Hopefully I am wrong but we ended up digging a hole so deep that the franchise has never been in this position before. I just think that really is going to take a lot of time to recover from.

Oh hell nah lol. But maybe I'm just od'n on hopium. If our defense can cap it off at 21-28 points a week and we aren't .500  by the end of the season, it would mean we're probably looking for another QB.

As long as we stay relatively healthy, I dont see why we couldn't win 9 or more games this season.

I assume the FO is just looking to improve on last year, which would mean 6 wins... 3 more shouldn't be outta the realm of possibility. Which would have us fighting 4 a wildcard position.

Hopefully, we are both wrong but the hopium feels dense right now. Look at last year, we lose Brown for the year and give up the most points ever. We aren’t talented enough yet to not have a razor thin margin of error.

15 years to get your sh¡t straight!? Man, you must really think that we are a hapless and hopeless francise. In five years, I'll be eligible for Social Security (provided the 🍊 man and Congress doesn't move the age back). Even a very deep hole shouldn't take that long to dig out of if you even half half-way competent management. I'm thinking by 2027, tops. You must think Bryce, Dan and Dave are going bye-bye.
