Centers are usually easier to find than left tackles, as there is a difference in the necessary physical skill. Centers don't need to be dancing bears to be considered the best at their position. They do need to be stout enough to be an obstacle in the A gap, and they need to be smart enough to call out coverages.

Very true, but with that said we havent had an above average center (or LT) in quite some time.

100%. It's a little bit of splitting hairs on what position is most important though, and there is some nuance as the roles are different.

But I think the general point the poster is trying to make is that we need to spend probably some premium draft capital to acquire a high end center prospect.   I dont know maybe one in the 2nd instead of a hurt running back

The best center we have ever had was a 2nd rounder. There are always options later in the draft, but then it is more of a question of effective scouting, and that, for whatever reason, has never been a strong point for us.

Personally, I think we have Moton's replacement already on the roster, but we have been playing him at left tackle instead. So not sure if there is a future center on the roster, maybe it's Mayes, but I am of the opinion that you draft for oline every year and always have someone in the pipeline. We do not do that really.

At this point they actually have to prove they are not a bottom 5 team before anyone not selling clicks or tuning in to watch for fun to believe.

Have they improved? Sure. Are they good? It does not appear that way at this point. Lots of best case scenarios would have to happen for that to be true and given our history I think I have better odds on a $2 loto ticket winning a jackpot.

I mean, when you actually start putting player vs player?  I don't think it's controversial.  Carolina still almost fully banking on hope that dudes pan out for a high % of the agreement here.  So proven edges out potential when you start putting them head to head.

The Colts might be debatable, but the Giants? Have you seen that roster? It's easily worse than ours.

I mean, the Giants suck.  Don't get me wrong.  Neither of us have much.

They got the best player as of right now on both sides of the ball though.

The Giants aren't even remotely comparable. We would kill to have the amount of talent that they do. On both sides of the ball.

Now. I will say that the sources in this thread did have them ranked only 29th, so not that far from us. I think they are very heavily weighted towards the upper end of the scale in a head to head.

They have a good oline and their d could be legit as well.  When Burns is your 3ish best pass rusher that means you are loaded on the dline.   Not even going to mention Nabors

You are what your record says you are. Theres a reason they were in place to draft Carter. They had a poor team.

sure 100% but I am saying Jones is the main reason that they sucked so bad.  Remember his int vs us?  Woof.  But overall their roster has some high end talent on it
