It’s like everyone forgets, Canales got Tepper to green light ending the Bryce Young experiment just 2 games into the season.  THAT happened.  And I still say all the investments on O have been one that doesn’t factor in Young.

Bryce’s rise from the literal grave….wasn’t planned or the vision IMO.  Bryce IMO fugged up the plan.   Now we are in no man’s land

If this is the case, which I don't completely rule out, I wonder how Canales plans on navigating this mess of convincing Tepper we have to move on from Bryce while not getting himself canned in the process? Quite the tightrope to walk...

It should be an easy decision at the end of this year. You don't move on from a franchise QB just because they aren't a top 5 guy. The last team I can think of that did it was the Browns and see how that turned out. If Bryce sucks this year it's an easy move on.

I was just gonna say, Canales earned my respect with that move coming in as the new guy and being able to objectively say, “sit him.  He’s not good,” regarding your owner’s pet project and former #1 overall pick in his second year.

I was explaining to my friend who is a Bears fan that while the pieces we’ve added could help Bryce, we essentially are putting the ball in his court - if you can’t win with this, the next guy will.  QB will now be a plug and play position for us if the Bryce experiment fails because every position around QB is ready to win.

The worst possible scenario is gray area. I just want him to sink or swim. Don't go out there and be middling. Give us the answer one way or the other.

Which is exactly what we should be doing.

If Bryce fails this year our offense is in a solid place to plug in a rookie QB.   I agree.  Much better than 2 years ago.  Assuming we have some sort of plan to keep the OL solid of course.

i haven't seen that anywhere, but if its true it makes me think of what (former panthers offensive lineman with a radio show name escapes me) said last season that he doesn't think Canales likes Bryce and wants him gone.

the offense was atrocious last season without Thielen. I think that was far more about him being out than Andy being in.

Star Tribune beat reporter "Ben Goessling" for the Vikings was saying it was close and they were discussing a third day pick for compensation.

you trade away Bryce's security blanket, and when he eats poo you say "look at all the money and resources and he STILL can't play"

then you promise Nicole will get input on the next QB too

Didn't Nicole want Stroud? Hell, I'm sold. Let her make the call. LOL

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
