Dalton serves his purpose perfectly fine. Don't completely get the wheels blown off and potentially have a shot to win a game or two.

I think a lot of people are definitely confusing "starting" versus "backup."

See that's where I disagree, he doesn't give much of a shot to win a game. As a backup, even with a much lower expectations, I don't think he can do more than hand off and dump off at this point. That's pretty bad, not Hooker as #2 bad but it sure looks bad.

Yeah, I don't think your perception is anywhere close to reality. You are more than welcome to that but I don't think you are going to get much in the way of legit agreement from any sort of football commentators.

Not going to compare him to Hooker because Hooker is another longshot to ever be worth a #2 spot. At least he isn't Plummer I guess. Young better stay healthy or they could go backwards in wins with those 2 options this year. 

Dalton is basically a QB coach at this point. If he had to come in for a play or two or even a series it might be ok. If Young went down long term though, I would give Dalton one game before he was on IR. lol

We really need a young backup that's hungry and actually wants to play.

His arm this year looks worse. Lol I agree after 1 game he has been washed but he just looked dead in the preseason to me. 

He should be coaching at this point, not wearing a jersey. Having a backup that can't backup well is pretty dumb IMO. Young or just younger would be fine. Going more upside with less proven has it's downside but anything more than Dalton taking up space would be a huge improvement.

Dalton, Plummer, Hooker...its pretty clear that the front office doesn't want any type of real competition for Young.

My only concern is if we're not actively trying to get better which we don't seemed overly concerned with doing. That's more of an organizational thing than a player thing. Great teams and coaches are always looking to find the smallest gains. We're content to settle. That bothers me.
