Is Tepper going to clean the house again after this season?

You could put Madden as coach with prime Tom Brady into this team, we will win 3-5 games.  It’s the culture… it’s toxic.  After 8 years, some folks still did not figure it out.

The official story is that Tepper is no longer so hands-on as he used to be.

If this is true, it's a start.

It's not a guarantee of improvement though. There are still a lot of things that would have to change.

No hands on?  Didn’t he just chewed Canales out after the game?  I’d say that’s pretty hands on.

If you can call being read the riot act constructive......

I once worked for a company that believed anyone who was competent in one area would automatically be competent in another (i.e. the Jerry Richardson philosophy). Management had absolutely zero understanding of what a skill set was.

As a result, what you got was people telling you that your performance wasn't good enough. But when you asked them how to make it better, they had no clue.

"Be better!"

"How?"

"I don't know! Just do it or else you're fired!"

Even though Richardson is long gone, I suspect there's still a lot of that kind of thing in the Panthers team culture.

We only know that they talked. The character and tone of the conversation is unknown.

My own take is that I believe him when he says he isn't meddling anymore. Unfortunately, the idea that this alone actually solves anything is fallacious.

To be fair SS was always a psycho with a giant ego. Haven't heard anything near that with Tillis.

Some folks would tell you it's okay to have someone psycho on your team as long as they're good at what they do.

My response is typically to apply that concept to a marriage and see if you still think it's a good idea 😳

As long as Tepper is the owner, the team is doomed to be below mediocre. He got rid of Steve Wilks because he was an alpha male. He only wants yes men, choir boys, and people that fit a certain profile. He refuses to let others lead. He is doomed to fail.

I’m not…. Dan Morgan is a GM last time I checked, not Tepper.  Manager should be talking to his employees, not managers manager.  When big boss talks to you, overstepping your manager, that’s either means your big boss don’t trust your manager or he’s meddling and sticks his nose into everything.  You pick.

Under Tepper they need to be well adjusted and not sycophants or the worst comes out. Wasn't that the year the staff went knives out?

I think Canales is safe no matter what. If he gets to select his own QB and he sucks next season that may be all she wrote.
Evero should have been fired last season. I think Tepper has given Canales a long rope.

He has chosen 3 and has no option behind Young this year. His coaching alone is enough to justify a firing if it keeps going the way it's going again. No need for a year 3 where he gets fired mid way for being who he was in year 1 and 2. That's like saying Evero deserved a year 3 after last year. It makes no sense logic wise. Plus he chose Young when he signed up for this while others walked.

    • I don't think we need to argue over the existence of the drops. Look at the film. Instead of arguing about was this a drop or was that a drop we should be looking at the throws from Bryce and recognizing the fact that there are so many 50/50 balls and passes that receivers have to make physical adjustments to even attempt to haul in. You cannot just put everything on the receiver at all times. For the WR to have success the QB has to be able to more often than not put them in a position to succeed. And we also have to be able to acknowledge when the QB is putting the receiver in jeopardy and that did happen Sunday particularly with Renfrow. I mean even a guy like TMac with his catch radius has faced a challenge hauling in passes from Young. And we're pretty hyped about him. Legette and Sanders I will say have underwhelmed. That's something the head coach needs to sort out. But we still have a really good RB room and we have the highest paid OL for 2025 by a significant margin. Nobody here even necessarily expected Bryce and the team to win many games. They just expected to see competency and something really anything to build on going forward. What we did not want to see was multiple steps back again. And with the investments that have been made there's really no excuse.
    • I firmly believe that ship is sailed.  When he came out for his presser, I literally just watched it thinking how the guys in that locker room feel listening to this same poo every week.  Sure, there are other shitty players on this roster, and definitely some coaches, but when the one guy on the field whose play can make or break your day is consistently atrocious, where they’re doing poo like Dan shows in this breakdown…. Bro, we’re in year 3 and you don’t recognize they’re in zone and a defender is waiting to break on the pass you just stared down for 2 seconds?  And okay, that happens to every QB from time to time, but again, we’re in year 3, and you did it not once, but multiple times in one game.  Somebody else shared in a thread yesterday, I think it was, that the Jags didn’t even run anything exotic.  They didn’t blitz.  They didn’t try to confuse him.  They literally ran zone the majority of the game and rushed 4.  And the poo he did in this breakdown, especially that throw to Renfrow, looked, from memory, exactly like the picks he threw to Jessie Bates repeatedly.  So imagine that guy coming in the locker room and trying to say anything to you.  Even if it’s an apology.  I don’t want to hear it.  You are costing us a chance to win, and if you know you’re not capable of doing better, fall on your sword and take your ass to the bench.  That’s what a good teammate would do.  A shitty one keeps going out there selfishly doing the same dumb poo he’s been doing.  And Dan didn’t even show the scramble to stumble to fumble, which also seems like Bryce has done more times than I’ve ever seen one player do in my life already.  It’s just comedic at this point that anyone is still pretending he is anything but what he’s shown to be.  I really just wish he would bow out and give the players who are actually doing their job a fuging chance.
    • I think he has a chance and his mental makeup is a big part of why. I also think the Bears got a little complacent over the course of that game because the Vikings were completely inept on offense for most of it and once it started clicking for the Vikings the Bears couldn't get their head in the game and realize they had to wakeup and dial in again.
