Coaching or Recruiting Issue???

Do the recruiters know how to identify talent?  Coaches need to play some of the guys on the bench who may be hungry to play the game of football.  When you do the same thing over and over you get the same results.  Give the rookies a chance.  The only thing we have to lose- Is another game. Right?  Keep Pounding!!!

I think the issue is using analytics to draft ATHLETES rather than old school scouts choosing the best FOOTBALL players.

Except at QB where they did the exact opposite and drafted a guy with none of the athletic measurables but just assumed he could translate his college production because super processor PG mentality, nevermind the reality that he'll no longer enjoy his team having a massive talent advantage over nearly every opponent.

This is a failure of both scouting and coaching.  And by coaching I mean both in preparation and in gameday execution.

I don't know that we are really even drafting athletes.  We are if you only look at 2/3rds of the standard athletic profile.  Size?  Check.  Long distance straight line speed?  Check.  Any sort of quickness or change of direction metrics?  Throw it out.  We only draft guys who dont test for those.  Weight and 40 time is plenty.
