Unfortunately Bryce Young won't be able to play opposite a QB gifting us points every week.

We've got a tough stretch of games coming up. Some of you hardline Bryce guys might want to pace yourselves.

Any of the next 4 (Patriots, Dolphins, Cowboys, Jets) are winnable

Hey, that’s a cool clip!

maybe check out Jake Delhomme, who also is on Panthers payroll (and happened to play the same position as Bryce at a highly competitive level) and see what he had to say about yesterday’s game on the post-game radio show.  He literally said “not trying to be a debbie downer” but, said that Bryce and the offense left a ton of plays out there on the field and a lot to be desired.  He focused on the same shortcomings that most objective observers (of our QB position) have been stating ad nauseam.  He wasn’t overly celebratory or doing any of the glazing that Al and most of the paid endorsers are doing.  Most would feel Jake’s tone and message was quite negative, but in reality, it’s just the truth.

I'm looking for the video but I found this from SI (from 3 days ago) in the meantime.

"If you remove the turnovers, which is a pointless exercise since they happened, Bryce Young has been quietly very good. Sometimes, you can live with the turnovers, but the explosive plays to offset them haven't been there, and the turnovers have directly led to points and losses.

But Jake Delhomme thinks that's the one area that needs to be cleaned up. Otherwise, Young has been strong. "We saw Bryce end the year well. I saw him play decent the first few weeks (this season). It’s just the turnovers, that’s something that’s killed him," he said via The Athletic's Joe Person."

Can we please stop quoting shills for the organisation?

What did he say that was wrong? Bryce keeps rebounding and bouncing back? He is developing chemistry with wide receivers? He handles adversity? He was a good leader even when he was benched?

All those things are widely known and acknowledged by players and the media. Did Al say he was great or a top quarterback? Did he say our offense was good? Let's see how this plays out. I am all for bringing in competition at QB and said so this year before the draft. But I am gonna root for Bryce as long as he us here.

Done for now going to go shoot some black powder rifles at the range today.

Love it.

Prodiddy says we should check out what a former professional QB, Jake Delhomme, says about Bryce.  He points out areas where the offense and Bryce need to be better.  Completely agree.

Then Cranky posts quotes from Jake that balances out the criticism with the positive things Bryce is doing.

The very next post OldhamA asks why are we even listening to former professional QB's talk about Bryce since he works for the team.

See, Jake even says he sucks.
Here's the whole quote.
Nevermind, don't listen to Jake.

I know it's not that big a deal.  I just find it funny what and how people use quotes or clips to support their arguments and how easy things can be taken out of context until you read or watch the entire thing.  No disrespect meant to either guy.

Mostly because once a huddler establishes a position and someone disagrees, it become a contest to win the argument and a reputation to save. Justifying their position  becomes more important than the Panthers or the players since their ego and position on this message board is being challenged. That is why few people actually have an open mind or are willing to change their opinion.

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
