Yes. Its not common for teams to have legit WR1 and WR2 spots. Not many teams have a Chase/Higgins or Hill/Waddle. It's usually WR1 and whoever stands out at WR2. Great QBs elevate the players around them. Great coaches realize when players aren't getting it done and put their ass on the bench and replace them with someone who will. It's not on the QB alone.

That’s not really true tho. Look at the playoff teams this year. All of them but the Chiefs and the Bills who use a TE as their 1 have a legit WR defined 1/2.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to the players whose fathers played pro sports.  It seems like the more mid-tier the dad was the better the son is and vice versa.  I’d love to see some data on that tho to back up my suspicions.

This is probably a bias. The really good HOF types have their kids hyped up and it’s hard to live up to HOF dads. The non HOF players kids aren’t hyped up as much because nobody knows who their dads are, therefore much easier to be better. See Jaycee as a great example.

edit: misread your post, yeah I agree with what you said and think that’s accurate

When has everything been absolutely perfect around him? Can't seem to remember that game

Whatever imperfections remain for Bryce to work around, it wasn’t from lack of them trying. The overkill of investment in offense is like the bailing out the banks to me, lol. Can’t allow them to fail.

Agree about the RB in the 4th. Not the finest use of assets, we have to hope he is worth it.
I don’t remember what ILB we could have gotten at that point, but would say that is the one thing I think is questionable. I think the first three picks are gonna pay good dividends.

McMillan looks like he will be a real beast in a year or two. I wasn’t totally thrilled going offense Again, but it looks like they nailed it.

I hate to tell you, but injured players fielding questions from the media as they recover is just part of the job as an NFL player. And he didn't seem to be "convalescing". He seemed to be confused and/or frustrated about how the situation whatever "the situation" may be is being handled.

There's just zero reason for taking a non-QB project player in the 1st round.  Just landing serviceable players would greatly improve the roster.  But we continue to pass it up for fools gold every year.

100%.  Total whiffs in the 1st 2 rounds last year.  Should have been obvious that we needed guys that were football ready with premium picks.

Fortunately,  this year's class is looking dramatically better.

. I don't hold it against him. He should go and live the life he wants.

I do.  He signed a contract to do a job.  If he decides to opt out after that contract runs out its one thing, but he signed up to take the cash and should have the honor to do his darndest to earn it.

I'm beginning to give up on him. Still hope he can  turn into a Highend WR3 to finish out his rookie contract. Just hurts when see so many players the next few picks after him pan out. Obviously Keon Coleman or Ladd but even defense. Sweat, Fiske, Dejean, Sainrstill, or Cooper. We are our own worst enemy.
