He's exactly the level of affordable talent that should have been brought in to make Bryce actually compete for the starting job.

I would have liked someone other than Dalton to be brought in, bexause even if Bryce had come out playing circa late 2024, you want a better backup than Dalton if he goes down with an injury.

Ah well.

After watching the Jets and the Dolphins play, do I have any confidence that we could beat either?

...no.

And stop this obsession with other team's QB's. You know we're just going to make them look worse.

Meh. The Jets aren't some great team either. And a lot of us have been fans of Fields since college.

There were certain posters on here that wanted to give Jake Browning a big contract this offseason because they've had enough of Bryce. He looks pitiful.

Well I didn't remember many advocating that here at all, perhaps as a backup lol. But Browning is just a backup, not some hidden starter.

Thats like cutting off your penis because you're tired of screwing the homely girl next door. How about going out to a bar to see if you can improve your odds of getting laid by someone else.

Joe Burrow should probably win the MVP in absentia. The Bengals are every bit as bad as we are sans Burrow.

Although true he is incredible... He was not particularly great in weeks 1 and 2 either (compared to Past Burrow).  As Panthers fans we dream of 113 yards and a TD with no turnovers, but still, that's far below what he usually can do.  Something more than just the QB seems off in Cincy.

The Bengals getting off to a slow start is every bit as predictable as the Panthers winning a couple of throwaway games late to tank their draft position.

What's off in Cincy is the same thing that's been off in Cincy for awhile now. They're absolute trash on D and on the OL.

Their D occasionally has a play or two but that OL is atrocious.  When people talk about how we don't protect our QB and I turn on the Cincy game while responding to the Huddle... Eesh.

I thought paying Tee Higgins was a huge mistake. Not that he isn't a very good WR, but just that they already have huge money tied up in Chase and they desperately need help on the OL. Having the best WR tandem in the NFL doesn't do you much good if the QB is having to run for his life immediately after taking the snap on most plays. I know tag and trades get talked about by fans far more than they actually happen, but that really seemed like an ideal tag and trade situation. You don't want to let that guy walk for a 3rd round comp pick but you can't afford to pay him either with the other glaring roster needs.

It was a terrible choice... They relied on Burrows miraculous ability to be sacked repeatedly every game and still throw for 300 yards, it felt like. Which is INSANE. It's like the Panthers refusing to really try to get Cam receiving help until it was too late.
