OFFICIAL Buffalo Bills @ Carolina Panthers Week 8 GAMEDAY Thread

Recommended Posts

The Panthers are going to win this game today.

Outside Josh Allen I dont see where Buffalo has a clear advantage.

Their defense has been porous against the run, their safety play hasn't been good, they're starting Poyer today who was on their practice squad.

I dont think they have the receivers capable of beating Horn and Jackson on the outside, it just depends on how Evero calls the game if we just sit back in zone and let Allen work it could be a long day but I think he should test whether they have the horses to win 1:1 matchups.

Offensively the Panthers need to run, run, preferably alot of Dowdle with Andy taking his playaction shots when available.

I think the Panthers dominate this contest decidedly.

Coaching they have clear advantage.

Roster depth I dont think they are much better than the Panthers.

Cam was MVP level player but one man can't do it alone. Buffalo receivers have been underwhelming.

Baltimore was their best win in the 1st week and they got gashed in the run game.

The two decent teams faced NE and Atlanta they lost. Had a struggle at home against the 1 win Saints.

They appear to be paper tigers.

Stop Allen, and the Bills are done

Take a page from the Atlanta DC on blitzes he does not handle well and male sure gap integrity is held   And hit him

All three charlotte Observer predictors took the Panthers to beat the Jets last week, so the margin among the trio has stayed the same. Fowler maintains a hefty lead at 6-1 over Kaye (2-5) and Zietlow (2-5).

Fowler: Panthers 27, Bills 26. Even as I write this, I am having a hard time believing I am going to pick against reigning MVP Josh Allen and Buffalo. But the Panthers are a far better team when playing at home (3-0). The Panthers at least have a shot if they play turnover-free football and run the ball at least 35-40 times against Buffalo’s 31st-ranked rushing defense (with 70% of those carries going to Rico Dowdle, preferably). Put me down for an upset and, hey, if it doesn’t work out, at least I’m giving my colleagues a chance to catch up.

Kaye: Bills 27, Panthers 24. I think this game will be close, regardless of who will be at QB for Carolina. The Panthers should have plenty of success on the ground with a few Tetairoa McMillan moments sprinkled in. Josh Allen, though, can be a monster on the football field, and it’s late October.

Zietlow: Bills 38, Panthers 21. Trust me, I’ve heard the same things you have. The Bills haven’t beaten a team over .500 yet. They’ve lost two straight. The Panthers brought in former Bills quarterback Mike White to the practice squad to find a competitive edge. Etc. Etc. But this is a game the Bills need to win in order to get on the right track — and a bye week of preparation will only help Josh Allen and the rest of the team in this effort. I think the Panthers hold close for a while, but then the Bills pull away at the end.

I will be around Chicago watching from a sports bar or sportsbook somewhere.

Here is to hoping Dalton shows out and maybe the staff will ONCE AGAIN see the Bryce that we all keep seeing.

Welcome to town

I am gonna say they have a coaching staff advantage, so much experience.

And a pass rush to get after slow footed Dalton. A good rushing attack which is always an assert if not an advantage.
And they have the QB advantage.

And I don’t even know who their TE is but I might after today lol. We’ll see.

We have a shot.

    • Baseball is waqaayy better suited to statistical analysis than football. If a hitter hits a home run, it's pretty much his own effort though the point goes to the team as a whole. For a team to score a touchdown (let's say via pass) the center has to make a good snap, he and the rest of the line have to block well enough to keep the defense from getting to the quarterback, the quarterback has to throw a good pass, the receiver has to run the correct route and catch the ball, the other potential targets have to effectively play their roles, and so on and so on and so on...  Any single one of those things going wrong can short circuit the whole thing, and even if it's all done right the defense might still stop it. Individual stats just don't paint a complete picture. There are too many variables. To get an accurate picture that way requires looking at things from several different angles, something most folks are either ill equipped or unwilling to do. I don't bother with all that. I just watch the game and go by what I know.
    • Bryce logic is just The Golden Calf of Bristol logic boss.  It’s the same Skip Bayless argument  doesn’t matter he isn’t very good.   Doesn’t matter he is why they are so often down.   Doesn’t matter he doesn’t really generate offense.  We got some really odd ball wins and there are some are some random late plays…it’s just a repackaged Tebowmania argument.  But more bland.  It’s a run game and D carrying the QB…..and wanting to over credit the QB
    • Whew, it won't compete against the Pop Tart Bowl (#12 BYU Cougars vs the #22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 3:30 PM ET) And yes, the Pop Tart Bowl DOES have the best marketing plan of all the bowls
