It's really not a surprise is it?

This is the meat of our schedule. Before the season, everyone had this game as a L.

It was a fun October. Win-wise, we might even be ahead of schedule, but don't let wins against bad teams cloudy the truth about this team. I would argue that we're not ahead of schedule when it comes to QB play. I would argue that we're not ahead of schedule when it comes to overall defense (and I suspect that if we don't go back to a 4-3, we're going to take one step forward and two steps back). I'm not fooled, and you know what that should ultimately mean for the DC. But at least we have a DC, right? I'm not talking a Dave Canales either. We need a legitimate OC. Canales really needs to focus on being a good coach. He isn't one. His player personnel decisions leave much to be desired, his clock management is below average,  and his situational play calling just sucks in my opiníon. He passed when we should be running and vice versa. Honestly, I haven't seen much development by him, by Bryce, by his staff. Hollow victories against bad, or at least incomplete, teams seems to be about the best a Panther fan can hope for.

And Dan Morgan needs to really have a come-to-Jesus moment about the QB room. We re-sign and rely on players that have repeatedly, if not consistently, shown that they're not up to the task of playing solid football, much less putting the team on their shoulders and dragging the team to a win. Can we get a 4000 yard passer please?

We are a bottom tier team flirting with mediocrity at least record-wise. Mediocrity responded, "Sike!" This is who we are.

Anyone kidding themselves about who is really running this team needs to wake up. Tepper is making the decisions. Dalton was brought back because he was no threat to Bryce and Tepper is protecting that decision at all costs.

We're a below average squad but when our defense and running game shows up, we can win games.

We cannot win games passing.  We can not out-maneuver teams.  We do not have playmakers.

We had a mini-streak snapped due to a terrible gameplan and terrible QB play.

This game was a lot closer than the score suggests. DC and Dalton tanked this game.

We needed to score on that second drive and Andy blew it. Rico should have been given the bulk of the carries.

Refs fuged us on XLs fake holding call and JCs “hold”. They immediately lead to Buffalo scores.

I thought the Bills looked beatable but this game was a good reality check. Same game as the Patriots, the 2 legit playoff teams we've played and we got boat raced off the field in every phase.

They were but we're nowhere near be a polished team. we starting to accumulate talent but they need to button it down and be pros.

I don’t remember if I posted it, but I wrote something. - maybe I said well you have already made a longish prediction just let it go..

But was along the lines of they are a better team in roster, experience and staff.
If they play at their floor and we play at our ceiling we maybe can pull it off. If they play close to their ceiling we are beat.
That wasn’t their ceiling, and we lowered our floor… and they had a lot to do with that.

The mental errors by Dalton were inexcusable. And surprising. I was worried that physically he doesn’t have anything left but never was concerned about his savvy. Damn.
When we came out with Chuba starting, and predictably went three and out I was highly  irritated. It set the tone. And it felt like it set the tone in that moment.

And that is squarely on Canales. His situational awareness is absolutely appalling. Why in the hell are we not rotating backs a la J-Stew and D-Will? Situationally subbing in and out based on hot hand, personnel, down and distance, leading or behind, end of half/game, explosive vs control…. ???? It’s shocking to me that I can see that from my couch yet our coach can’t from the sideline.

Without dominant personnel (you know what I’m going to do and you can’t do anything about it), you have to avoid becoming obvious and predictable. There was zero flow/rhythm today.  Every coach we have ever had (Rhule doesn’t count) would’ve benched Dalton.  See Rodney Peete 2003 vs Jax G1 at halftime.  See wildcat Dwill vs ATL 2006.
