Fox in the market for a complementary back

The love/hate affair with fox continues.

It sure does make good entertainment.

I don't see fox trading orton or The Golden Calf of Bristol. He needs those guys.

Then reading the broncos board, they hate orton so much, they believe ya gotta have orton as the starter to create a higgher trade value. Lol. That is some seriously funny crap.

Then there are the panther fans hanging around over there so they can hate on fox every chance they get. That is some serious sad crap.

This could be turned into a reality tv show.

Why is this Panther's news? There are lots of teams who are in the market for a RB as good as Williams. I doubt, highly, that Fox has any influence on a decision making process for DWill. I doubt too that Fox has a hand in who the Broncos FO goes after to fill that role.

Until we see a report that Williams is in talk with Denver, this is NFL Talk, not Panther's talk.

It's customary to post league news in the main forum during the offseason. Or should this forum be reserved solely for threads about Cam Newton?

Wel let's see, the former Panthers coach is looking to build a similar attack to the one he ran while coaching the Panthers, and in order to do so may look to acquire the best runningback currently on the Panthers roster (likely to be a free agent if the CBA goes through) or might try to trade for one of the other Panthers backs.

A clue to this aspect of the discussion can be found in the initial post...

That'll fuel a boatload of speculation about DeAngelo Williams, though I'm not sure how justified it will be.

But hey, other than all that, not Panthers related at all

    • It goes deeper than that for me. When I started watching the Panthers as a kid I fell in love with Mark Fields’ story during that SB run. He wore #58. Then TD wore it and kept the tradition of the being the soul of the Panthers. The next time someone wears #58 I hope brings that same spirit
    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
