Would you trade Derrick Brown to get a top QB prospect?

That was the story of the '26 class this time last year. It always seems like next year's class is "the one".

That was  *IF* a lot of the underclassmen declared, which is looking like nearly none of them are.  It's largely going to be the same pool of guys as this year, minus the term limited seniors...which outside of Mendoza is looking skimpy.

Because they're just not playing that well. The class isn't turning out on the field near as well as it looked on paper. If they were playing like guys who would be going in the 1st round they'd probably be declaring.

Agree to disagree. It's a different age.  The rush to go Pro is not nearly as urgent as it once was.  Moore would be top 10, possible top 5 pick. He's likely going back.

Cam and Chad Pennington after their shoulder injuries are about the only ones that come to mind as comparable.

I think there's an argument to be made that not only is there no rush to go pro, but unless you're a sure fire can't miss QB prospect, you're better off staying in college than declaring for the draft.

If you're even in the discussion of being a mid round draft pick at QB and you put your name in the portal, even if you want to stay at your current school, you're going to get a massive NIL bag dropped at your feet to stay in school.

Non first round QB's can make more in one season through NIL than they'll make on their entire rookie contract these days.  If you're not a guaranteed Top 10 pick, it's to the point where entering the draft is dumber than just playing one more year in college unless you think you're going to get badly exposed and ruin your NFL prospects in the process.
