It won't, you guys will cling to him ending coach K's career both at home and in the tourney and forget the national championship choke job. Sucked in the moment as a Duke fan but I'll love every day that the chump is UNC's head man.

The final wins over K enroute to a title game run (along with Roy's strong support) bought him a long leash but at this point the financial commitments are playing a MUCH bigger role. We have a lot of money tied up in Hubert and Belichick and replacing Belichick is probably seen as the far more pressing matter.

The way duke fans act you'd think they were Wooden's UCLA but all they've really been doing is providing a stopover for a year for NBA lottery picks while not winning any titles. You're not Wooden's UCLA, you're Calipari's Memphis.

That one moment has done more damage to UNC Baksetball than anything in recent memory.

Agreed. Ruining K's send off twice was awesome on the way to a national championship game appearance but it gave the administration way too much co fodwncw in Hubert when the reality was rhat streaky shooters in Caleb Love and RJ Davis just got red hot at the right time and Hubert finally carved out a major role for Brady Manek.

Hell, this year's win over duke was kinda the same story. The team came put absolutely sleepwalking and not ready to play outside of Caleb Wilson and Seth Trimble who pretty much by themselves kept us from getting absolutely blown out by half. The rest of the roster did practically nothing in the 1st half other than steal oxygen that Wilson and Trimble could've been breathing.

The only disagreement I'd have with Hansbrough's assessment is that it's not limited to just this year. It's been Hubert's entire tenure. Hallmarks of Hubert's teams are: streaky shooting, streaky focus, running your starters into the dirt because you won't sub, and absolutely embarrassingly bad plays put of timeouts. It all points straight to the coach. When the roster keeps changing but the core fundamental issues keep recurring, it's not the players.

The problem UNC basketball has is that the next coach would be selected with heavy input by Roy Williams again, which is what led to Hubert being hired in the first place. Bleh

The sad and infuriating part is we have the most recognizable and one of the richest ex-athletes who does absolutely nothing to help with funding or influencing recruits.  Until he steps up, this school will never be really good at basketball or football again.

I said it 6 years ago when Hubert was the next in line.  Back the fuging Brinks truck up to Spokane Washington and force Mark Few to tell his wife they are moving across the country.

Roy Williams never should have had any input.
