Canales is telling us, but we aren’t listening

my guess on that is....

Tepper hires people.  Often bad people.  He is nosey.  He is hard. I think he wants final thumbs up or down on select things.  But he largely lets bad people do their job....until he fires them.  I do think he was the tie breaker on Bryce.

and I think Bryce Young was largely a Carolina GM decision.  Fitterer, Morgan and their team.  That's how we got him.   Tepper sided with their argument over Team Frank.

I think Tepper gave Canales the thumbs up to part last season with Bryce.  Then I think they all sort of got blinded that he could be fixed and gave it a go this year.....after this mistake of allowing the return from the dead and miracle.

I don't buy this unique only to Bryce argument that Tepper is tripling down on something that doesn't work.  That's not the Tepper way at all.   I think you got to fault the GM office the most.   I think that's the team w/ the most egg on their face and the most at stake in the BY argument.  And I also think, Morgan is merely here because David Tepper couldn't find anyone good that was willing to come here.

I don’t think the Tepper of recent is the Tepper of 2018-2022. He changed in 2023 after firing Reich, being seen on camera losing his temper, etc. I think the reports of him backing away is true (he’s said it himself). He’s probably involved to a point but not micromanaging. (You would micromanage too if Rhule was your HC). I think he got burned by Scott who he probably trusted so he hired that firm to put people in place and stepped back. You only see him in the background now, standing in the back of the locker room, strolling at practice, or talking on the sideline. They don’t even cut the camera to him in his box anymore, I don’t think I’ve seen that since early 2024.

Now if this implodes on itself or gets dysfunctional, it’s very likely that he resorts to his old ways. Best thing for all of us is that Canales, Morgan, and Tillis figure this out so he doesn’t feel the need to “help”.

Can you imagine if he was like Irsay’s daughter with a call sheet and headset on the sideline.

I am reading that stuff about 30 deep completions or whatever it was and thinking to myself, “what? Where was I when this happened?”
10 games. That is 3 a game, do I need to look at each passing chart to count them? I guess so.

“Deep completions” are 20+ yards. Literally from 25 yard line to 45 yard line is a “deep completion”

yeah I have been duly informed of that last couple of years. I just don’t remember them to the tune of three per game average.
I wasn’t really interested enough to ask if that was air yards or if someone caught a swing pass and broke something off.

I like DC. I liked that after game 2 last year - which was game 2 as him being a head coach, he benched Young.

I like that he has those balls. I was then confused when he didnt start to feature Rico after his run.

DC is in a tough place with Young. He has an offence he wants to run but a QB that cannot do it. So do you bend to try to work with what Young can do.. or force your system?

I think he actually handled the Rico-Chuba situation pretty well. Rivera would have been loyal to Chuba a lot longer but Canales gave him one game and then made the right call. I would have been annoyed if Chuba went back to stating for a bunch of games, but it was just one game Canales let them split touches then it was back to featuring Rico. It’s a fair call to give it one game to see if the even split might be at least almost effective because that would save Rico’s legs for the long haul.

You might lose the ones that were talking about the ones that were slacking. The slackers win with that comment

Not sure I agree but that’s beside my point, which is this could easily cause resentment towards the ‘tattlers’ from the ‘slackers’ even though they weren’t named.
This could be a seed.

Not necessarily. Suggesting that they don't throw their brothers-in-arms under the bus publicly isn't really the worst idea. I'm pretty much out on Dave C. but this might be a non-issue.

He has lost them because people already felt the need to blabber about this to the press.

Lack of culture.
