Been there, done that, too. Long, hard road to recovery, but when it works it's as good as new.

But man, that brace effing sucked.

you had a MACI too? nice man. they did a lateral release on me too so i've got 3 screws in there. I'm back to squatting over 300 7 months out.

i just got fitted for my skiing brace. those things cost like 2k normally but i crushed my deductible. 120k surgery i paid 10gs for lmao the system works.

I know! That's why he interviewed with the Falcons before they went with Morris. He would be gone from UNC as soon as that phone rang.

Every UNC fan is hoping the phone is ringing off the hook. LOL

Some NFL team hiring Belichick would be the biggest get out of jail free card a college football program has ever gotten. It ain't happening though.

Unfortunately, Penix may have been on borrowed time since setting a foot in this league. How many injuries can his knee take? Perhaps his saving grace is that he is young.

Yeah, that dude had an absolute laundry list of injuries coming into the league. I liked him in college and he has honestly shown more raw talent in the NFL than I thought he had coming into the draft but that injury history is real and even without the injury issues showing back up, he had regressed hard this year.

One of the commenters on ESPN this morning said that Atlanta had to play Penix in the pistol or shotgun only because going under center was too stressful on the knees.

They had to drill a hole through the bone, pull the ligament through and attach it to a screw on the opposite side. No idea how much it cost at the time, but it all went straight to insurance. Blew through the deductible so fast...

I've got to say that I had a meniscus tear and repair on the other knee a few years earlier and it is nowhere near as good as the one that had this procedure done on it. Amazing procedure and amazing surgeon.

Now, wish I could say I was doing something heroic when I tore it up, but I was just loading the dishwasher, I turned and my foot didn't. Hooray for being in your 50s.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
