Does Bryce deserve credit for game-winning drives?

Well the reason for the tight playbook is heavily debated. Without going into that I will just say we haven’t beat up on any top defenses so far, offensively.

Atlanta looked mediocre at best. Being kind.  They are our big victim.
SF is supposed to be weak on defense, I think it will be interesting.

Passing chart had 3 over 20 I think. The Legette TD and another completion and an incompletion. All over 20 yards.  An incompletion at 19 or maybe 20 yards. So you could technically probably say 4 throws 20 or more.

That seems high to me compared to the norm. 45 throws and 10 YPA are both way high.

He's got pretty close to the same number of 20+ this week as last but he approx a fourth of his passes went at least ~15 yards down field this week ...  He only had 3 of 25 going that distance vs New Orleans.

He was looking further downfield imo.

Except in most of those games he doesn’t have that type of stat line.

I mean, you see the games on the first page right? 167, 235, 171, 121, 103 etc etc. Am I a tad small? I guess if we are needing perfection, but hey this is a BY thread.......

Id say in the majority he does have around 100 yards for 55 minutes, does that help? Just like the numbers they reflect hes playd very poor in nearly 85% of those game leading into the final minutes. I will also give this, he could had more GWDs if not for the defense choking.

I feel this is sooooo very clear to people that watch the games. Even the pure only 100% BY fans or his relatives should be able to see this as well.

The guy said 78 yards not 100.

How many of those games did he have over 30 attempts? We do not throw the ball much so no poo he isn’t throwing for 270 yards a game.

I changed it to better help the stans, I mean 22 yards is a big help when talking about BY passing yards..

How would you say leading up the the final drive has he played in 80% of those games?

I wonder why we don't throw the ball much more, its very perplexing ...........

    • We beat Atlanta by 30 in the first meeting
    • The situation here was the doing of David Tepper.  Frank Reich didn't want Young, he wanted Stroud. Stroud fit his QB mold better than Young. So yeah, he didn't design an offense for him. He was lied to by his boss and he didn't want to be here. Would you? It sucks for Young, but as I said, that has nothing to do with his terrible footwork, poor mechanics, his shitty drop backs, fumble issues, not bothering to look off the Atlanta safety that turned into a pick 6 by his own admission. Those were all things that had nothing to do with Frank, the OL or the rest of the team.  And Houston wasn't a complete team. They had the 2nd pick in the draft because they sucked. They built a team and had a damn good HC that I wanted here but he refused Tepper's interview.  Young has been protected in ways no other QB has. Dalton has been kept because he has never been a threat to take the job from Young. We signed him to a 2 year deal this offseason when it was clearly evident we needed an upgrade. For 2m more per year we could have and should have looked at Brissett if we didn't go after Howell, Russell, Winston or anyone else. Anyone else other than Dalton would have been a serious risk to take Young's starting job. If Young hadn't been the 1st overall pick, and been a day 3 pick instead, he would have been cut as a rookie. If he were on any other team as a starter, this message board would be laughing like hell at whoever was starting him for 3 years. That's why this team gets murdered when Young doesn't play. He's been sheltered from ever having to worry about his job and the QB room proves it.  I've been extremely critical of how this team has been constructed the past 3 years, especially on offense. But this whole narrative that Bryce has always been good enough and it's everyone else's fault that he's not succeeding isn't matching up to what he's been putting on the field week in and week out.
    • He sucks to be honest. He hasn't made much of a difference at all.
