JK Dobbins' injury history is obscenely long; most notably, he blew a knee and an Achilles. He started most of the season. 

ACL's aren't the death sentence they used to be. Brooks is really young for an NFL player--he wasn't even born yet when Jake Delhomme took us to the Super Bowl. He'd be young for this upcoming draft class. There's a good shot he's back to contributing next year.

The flaw in this is that every athlete's body will respond differently. To think that he will bounce back and be just about like new is as incorrect to think he will never run again and a stiff breeze will send him to the ground.

There is really no way to predict what the outcome will be.

Thomas Davis had his first ACL tear nearly 2 decades ago.

There is nothing similar about the group (I think Wattenberger did his back in the day) or the actual procedure. There have been lightyear advancement in ACL reconstruction.

Yeah, I never said that he'll be just like new. I said I was surprised at how completely negative the sentiment is on this board and that there's still a good shot he can contribute again. As in a chance.

There are chances for lots of things. Possible is not the same as plausible.

Personally, I don't think it's wise to spend premium draft capital on a rb with a serious injury. It sure is great we told Jerruh Jones to pound sand and snapped up a player we assumed he wanted though. Har har, Jerruh! But that's my take on it.

As I have said previously here, I hope he is the next great Longhorns rb in the NFL. Maybe he will be. There's a chance.
