49ers void Brandon Aiyuks 2026 guaranteed money , set to release him.

The 49ers, sources say, responded by voiding the guaranteed money in Aiyuk’s contract for 2026, asserting that the absences amounted to a failure to fulfill his contractual obligations. Aiyuk, according to multiple league sources, told NFL Players Association representatives that he did not want to fight the move via an official grievance. That would clear the way for his expected release at season’s end.

Just the distraction we need hopefully to sneak one out...

He will have plenty of suitors lined up for his services. A WR of his caliber rarely hits FA. Although this is starting to somewhat remind me of the AB situation to a lesser extent.

That being said I think there's pretty much no way in hell he isn't in a Commanders uniform next year

Ayiuk, Scary Terry, and Deebo? Talking about an injury-plagued receiving corps...

I’d absolutely consider signing him.

I think that is a price and attitude thing. Reportedly he was a bit of a handful for Shanahan, although admittedly not enough to not sign him to that big deal.

I also think this may be much ado about nothing. If we plays this season, I suspect they will likely not move on from him.

The Niners didn't want him. I think to some extent they were publicly shamed into making an offer when it was revealed he was not in their plans.

I am gonna have to disagree. You don't sign someone to a large contract extension if you don't want them.

I doubt it on the commanders piece. They tried to go after a bunch of vets this year to try and go after a chip after Jayden Daniels great rookie season. They are the oldest team in the league right now and it kinda blew up in their face. I think they’ll go after some youth. But i could be wrong.
