What a franchise QB looks like

Joe Burrow hasn't played for three quarters of the season and very little in the pre-season. He comes back and posts some very good numbers and leads his team to victory.

That's what a #1 franchise QB should be doing, not whatever is going on here. The eye test doesn't lie. Throw out the rose colored glasses and believe what your eyes are telling you.

Five more games and then a decision needs to be made on a certain players permanent status.  Do what is right for the team and fiqure out how to improve that one very critical position. Please don't fug it up this time.

Just fug off with that..

Cam at the beginning of his career dealt poorly with hardships. I dont think thats a big issue saying.

I also get how his whole persona and how he carried himself/dress was not everyone's ideal.

Regardless Cam was appreciated by basically every fan for his contributions to the team. We had some pretty special years with him.

But this whole "we deserve this" cause we cut a QB that couldn't throw the ball anymore is ridiculous and tiring.

So 5+ years after Cams best football was behind him, now you think we don't deserve a franchise QB?

I dunno man, plenty of us malcontents here loved Cam and were huge supporters of his. It's not like we fans drove him off in his prime, either - he was never the same after the shoulder injury and Tepper Teppered that situation all up.

Most of us wanted him to play out his last year of his deal in 20

Deserve’s got nothin’ to do with it  Do people deserve being born rich? Poor? It just happens. Like our QBs happen to us. We have nothing to do with that. Have they ever asked us before signing a single one?

And that towel over his head was pretty strange if I am honest. Was he going for an endorsement?

I wouldn’t like Caleb Williams’ fingernails I can tell you that. But if he QBs them to a division title in his second year, Bears fans will tolerate that gladly. It is all overblown.

People forget that it was reported HE WAS NOT GOING TO PLAY OUT HIS DEAL.. and he wanted a new deal.

So the decision is, pay him a new top of the league contract for a QB with a busted arm.. or let him go.

...It was time to let him go.

And, I'd add that I don't remember a towel over his head being a big Huddle thing, or a thing at all here. Maybe on Reddit or something...

Who would get really upset to the point where they wanted to kick Cam to the curb because he put a towel on his head or pouted when he lost?

You need to take that poo to Facebook.

That is how I remember it too. It was similar to how people portray Bryce in 2026 without his option picked up. I mean people didn’t think it was gonna be peaches and cream with Cam on an expiring contract, same as they are predicting for Bryce.

IIRC the impression I got was Cam was not gonna be happy and if Cam ain’t happy nobody’s happy, to borrow a cliché from mama.

It isn’t like Bryce because Bryce is the same Bryce, but Cam was not the same Cam. You cannot overlook that but I felt like his attitude was he expected the team to do business as usual.
Not to acknowledge the fact that he was physically different and have that reflected in a new valuation.

Which I don’t know how that was supposed to work out..
