Nobody’s ring chasing signing an extension.  The “bad team tax” just means you have to pay more in UFA than a better team all things being equal.  If Derrick Brown hit the market he was getting a monster deal.  I don’t think we had to pay a special tax that’s exclusive to a few teams.  The bad team tax is not relevant to extending Icky.

When I see those figures my stomach gets queasy at the thought of Bryce getting a similar deal. I think it would be a wise for the FO to speak to him and his agent before the deadline for 5th year option.  If Bryce expects a similar deal prior to his 4th year...or even after his 4th year...Morgan needs to try to work out a trade deal and move him.

That's why  I've been pretty adamant I want Bryce to either really, really succeed and become the franchise QB we all hoped he would be after he was drafted, or really really fail and we could cut him and move on. Those numbers scare the bejebus out of me and with Tepper being involved in the big decisions, it makes it even more nerve wracking. This up and down, good week, bad week, winning in spite of a bad day for Bryce, is just about the worst thing we could have had happen. Seeing what Arizona paid Kyler and they're ready to walk away and be done feels like staring into the future right now if things continue along the same pattern of good week, bad week.

Just like the petulant children of this forum are giving up on Legette too soon, they gave up on Icky too soon... and now he's one of the best in the business.  I preached patience with Icky, and I'm going to preach it with XL.

Yeah...I think that's overstated.

My take was that he'd be better at guard but our new OL coaches are making a believer of me.
