First 4 NFL starts - Tyler Shough

In Nick Mullens first 5 games as a starter in 2018 he threw for:

262

250

221

414

332

There’s a lot more examples of guys like this. I didn’t look at Jake Browning’s stats last year but he comes to mind as well, along with of course Kyle Allen. Anyone can look good for a few games until the opposing DC gets some tape and starts to actually game plan for whatever attributes stand out on film. Then trash QB reverts back to trash QB and is buried on the bench again.

He is averaging 68% completion and 235 pass yards per game in his first 4 start....on a bad team.    Yeah, he has better production as a starter than anyone else in his class and no one practically knew who he was going into this season.  He is playing....oddly well (given who he is, how bad the Saints are, etc.).  And that's our next opponent.  In what folks deem a must win game for this weird ride to continue.   So, yeah he should be talked about.

Last week he threw a game-losing pick two after a garbage time comeback padded his stats. I wouldn't consider that "playing well".

So you're New Orleans.  Do you draft a QB or get him some help. As it stands they are top 5 pick.

IMO they should trade him to a team with an established QB, sign a bunch of bad contracts and use all draft assets on Kickers, Punters and Long Snappers.

Seems like that would be the best outcome for that franchise.  Falcons also may want to consider this strat.

A substantial portion of this fanbase would prefer we win 1 out of every 4 games (which Shough has done) if we threw for 220 yards a game rather than have a winning record and be in the playoff hunt

That’s unfair, and bullshit. It just isn’t true.

you have a super high bar for a 2nd round rookie 4 starts into a career that took over what was a 1-7 win team.

and I mean, we literally just watched him a couple weeks ago.   Dude balled regardless of stats that day (which were good).

Surprising? His QBR is lower than Spencer Rattler’s. He’s thrown 5 TDS and 4 INTs and is 26 years old. He’s Brandon Weeden or Chris Weinke. An old guy on a terrible team who can put up mediocre stats and convince a few morons that he might be the guy. Some of yall need to be out of the amateur football evaluation business.

He handled our defense pretty well.

Every QB playing next Sunday in the Saints/Panthers game will have a QBR lower than Spencer Rattler.

what do you want us to talk about if you are knocking out QB play for both teams in terms of suitable discussion?

That QBR doesn't seem to help Rattler keep the starting job.

Rattler should of done more to not get drafted in the 5th round.  Other rounds contain perks when it comes to QBRs in that area.
